Our current offer is off the table and we may or maynot make a new offer- Van de Kraan.

Don't kill the messenger.

This is not happening guys - tremendous respect for all the muppets for keeping the belief.

Hoping we can bring in a few new faces before the deadline and get us moving up the table, weed a few more out the club over the next year, and build a more stable foundation, as we are all over the place at the moment.

Wow people lose faith so quickly... if it was off, we'd know by now as our usual suspects would report we're done with a potential transfer at pretty much the same time.

He's as good a source as you can hope for on the Dutch side. The fact we have withdrawn our offer, means the offer money is being reallocated to probably Rabiot and a striker. We were never going to spend over the budget this summer, even with the shitshow of the first two games.

There are a hell of a lot of assumptions in this post.

Except Auba does not want to go, Depay is going on a free and they are also talking about Dest who has less of a market than Phil fecking Jones. They can register Kounde with 1 or 2 more leaving but that has little to do with FDJ because they still want to sign and register Alonso and are still dreaming of a new RB and Silva in midfield. FDJ if he stays is still going to be breaking their wage structure and so remains a problem for future windows and they also want that sweet, sweet transfer fee because their other outgoings are bringing in peanuts, this one big deal as has been outlined previously is worth around 175M net in terms of the fee and savings, a pretty tasty amount when you need to pay off 2 billion in loans.
Auba will leave as long as a team can pay him. You see how desperate Chelsea are for forwards from yesterdays game. Depay has one foot out the door. Sure, they may not be picking up much in terms of a transfer fee, but its circa 400k euros a week off the books. Enough to register Kounde.

I don't think Alonso is an essential player for them.

Yes, FDJ is getting payed way too much, and im sure they would like to get rid for that very reason. They could bring in two or three quality players for that wage.

But FDJ has to play ball for that to happen. If it wasn't for the Ten Haag connection, we wouldn't even be in the conversation. After what he has seen of United over the past two weekend, do you really think that Ten Haag being here is enough to bring him to United. For all he knows of United and their owners, Ten Haag could be sacked by Christmas.

He seems content to hold on at Barca and backs himself to get games.

We didn't choose to withdraw. We only chose not to present a formal offer and come to a formal agreement with Barcelona on this. Honestly, I'd rather the club not submit a formal offer until Frenkie becomes open to a move, which he's yet to be at this time (for reasons that have previously been covered).

What offer has supposed to have expired, the transfer fee to Barcelona, or personal terms to de Jong?
The offer to Barcelona. United have had a broad agreement over the whole deal for a while without presenting a formal offer. That deadline's now passed, so United now need to restructure the deal with Barcelona, though that shouldn't take too much time given the acceptable terms from before.

Is an offer withdrawn when there's a deadline on it or is it the case that the deadline just elapsed?

FFS stop lying

He said it wasn't likely that we'd pay the deferred wages
What Van der Kraan said was that Frenkie doesn't want the money (deferred wages) from United and wants Barcelona to pay him. He went on to say that Frenkie is very quiet about the whole thing due to the legal ramifications that could arise if he did speak. And his agent Ali Dursun travelled to Barcelona recently to provide the player with support and not to meet with Barcelona.

He also said that ten Hag is in regular contact with the player's reps.

Unless Barca decide to ask for more money which I wouldn't put past them based on their actions this summer

Because people here would have you believe so far as she isn't buried she'll probably make it to the beach sometime.

Not saying that means he is coming to us but I don't expect Barca to stop trying to push him out and if he hangs on through this window it will start all over again in January. They really need his wages gone and a significant sale to balance the books, I can't think of anyone else who would fetch much of a fee that they would be willing to part with.

Which is A HELLUVA LOT different to ‘Frenkie has rejected Utd’ or ‘ Utd have withdrawn’ .

There are a hell of a lot of assumptions in this post.
We are £600m in debt, we aren't spending more than £130m net, and we've just spend £50m odd on Martinez. FDJ would take up the rest of the budget, it's clear we need more than 1 player - Glazernomics at play here..

I think this all does feed in to the reports that United will launch a major push to get the deal done this week?

Will be interesting to see what happens now.

If United bid again I imagine they will because they know it will get done. If it stays silent then that’s that.

Nah that’s irrelevant

You know Spurs are in more debt than United right?

That depends on how desperate they become down the line. Barcelona aren't revealing their desperation to move on Frenkie at this time. However, their terms haven't changed; they still want €80m in total for the player at a bare minimum.

Thank feck for that if it's true, go get the Brighton lad for maybe half the £70 plus million FDJ was . SMS maybe on the cards now as well or ETH is throwing some of the cash at a Striker

Agree, they probably want him gone. They are paying him way too much. But there are a very, very small group of teams that would even consider taking him for 70mil euros plus 30mil euros in wages.

Chelsea wont pay him circa 70% more than their current highest paid player, along with a massive transfer fee. Which leaves only one team dumb/desperate enough to do that - United.

Unless he is dumb enough to come here, then it is not going to happen.

Square pegs though, SMS would be ok in an advanced position.

What United can't do is play against low block teams still. United need good passers and players to beat the press.

That's why FDJ is needed and a destroyer type to help the back line. I personally don't care much for "half price" players.

Van der Kraan is basically saying that de Jong wants Barca to pay him the deffered wages and not another club. It seems like the player is stubborn and wants Barcelona to pay up.
