So he has beaten them both a couple of times? So has Ole. Ole also beat him in a one off important Champions League tie with a worse team. Also as
@romufc rightly points out he has not even achieved the things you claim he has.
Has he ever finished above either of them in the league? I would be willing to make any bet you want that he will not finish above either this season no matter what signings he makes. I will give you 2 to 1 odds.
Your comparison to Tuchel winning the CL against City in the final is that under Ole we shithoused a win against PSG…I honestly don’t know what to say. One got the biggest trophy out there, the other won an R16 game.
As for the league question, they’ve only been in the PL together with sides of similar strength and Tuchel has only been at Chelsea one full season so obviously the answer is no.
@romufc my bad, mixed up the penalty shootout winners.
| Klopp vs Tuchel | Pep vs Tuchel |
PL | L (0-1), D (1-1), D (2-2) | L (1-2), W (1-0), D (1-1), W (1-0) |
Domestic Cups | WW (both D with peno wins) | L (FA 0-1) |
European comps | NA | L (CL 0-1) |
So versus Klopp, Tuchel has a favourable head to head PL record and worse domestic, marginally worse versus Pep but better in all the cups. Obviously points totals are what counts in the league but people forget Chelsea were 1st last season and then came the controversy of making them play but allowing other teams to postpone with covid/injuries and they nosedived through Dec/Jan winning 4 of 11 games.
I will take you up on your offer all day long, I think he will finish above one of them if those three players arrive.
