You can't completely rule out such a situation: it would be the same if his contract was running out and somewhat similar if he was aggressively pushing for a move. It's a bit of an ambivalent situation, because he was a big catch for Gladbach at the time, they wanted to change/implement their club philosophy and his aligned perfectly with it and it paid off handsomely with the top four finish in his first season and their CL campaign the current season, so it could be argued that people shouldn't be so quick to forget where the club was heading under Hecking and that no matter how this plays out it will have been worth it.
On the other hand a two year release clause undermines everything a newly appointed coach is supposed to stand for and all the talk of being happy to get to work at a club like Gladbach and building something together that both Eberl and Rose talked when this thing started seems like hollow cynicism now.

Yeah, with coaches contract situations are always fluid and ambivalent. But exactly as you say, it's just ironic because of the whole human, cathartic melodrama of Eberl telling Hecking he'll be replaced despite being such a great guy and doing a real solid job, in order to appoint someone for a greater, more expansive long term future, tears in everyone's eyes and such :lol:

I was wondering how long BVB and Rose had decided, I think we talked about it at the time Favre was sacked and the Rose rumours were immediate. Seeing that Favre's contract was running out, we should expect that BVB had indeed 'tapped' up Rose already.
The stuff about the transfer decision etc., it's intriguing. It reminds me of the last two summers of Pep at Bayern, when Bayern was in the running for all of Sané, De Bruyne and Gündogan and they all went to Man City instead. Ominous stuff, not sure who made which decisions there, with what future in mind.

Given how quickly even the more reliable parts of the media zeroed in on Rose after Favre was sacked I'm sure that this was in a works for some time even before he had to go. And from what I remember early into the season there were some reports about Dortmund and Rose that prompted Eberl to complain about a lack of respect for his club. If you want to go 110% tin-foil hat then you could even speculate that Dortmund were already having second guesses about Favre when the team dropped that lead on Bayern and he declared the title gone at the first opportunity and that it might not have been a coincidence that Rose's release clause lined up with the end of Favre's contract.
 
Some rough weather going on at the Bayern game.
 
As I predicted (and feared) yesterday. A tired and decimated Bayern team faces a full match fit team from Bielefeld. The weather doesn't help either.
Still I thought Bayern have underfloor heating to prevent the pitch becoming unplayable.
 
Jet-lagged Bayern dropping points against Bielefeld in a game under freakish weather conditions.. the other teams at the bottom must be over the moon :lol:

Bielefeld had 2 shots both are goals.
The pitch is terrible. Bayern's quick passing game isn't possible under these conditions.

Why they don't use the underfloor heating? Can't be that expensive. Shocking.

The only thing I want from this game is No more injuries. I will gladly take this loss if we have no injury

We only have Coman and Sane as wingers now, Gnabry and Costa injured

Well, it's not for lack of trying.. but if the opposition strikers just fall down to the ground, alone and free in front of our goal, not much we can do.
 
Bayern defenders are asleep. They must be hungover from midweek.

I've been watching Bielefeld all season, they don't score three goals (nearly four) in a game!
 
Wish I took Bayern at 4.2 when they were 0-2 down. I knew they would definitely come back to win the game.
 
Süle has been depressingly disappointing since his injury. The way he is performing this season, he will end up getting sold. So bad.

I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt, he looked so certainly set on to be a top defender. But now he looks so ghoulishly unfit and slow, he looks depressed honestly.

Süle did have a couple of good games at RB, true. Sarr, I liked his first few appearances but yeah he's not been good recently.
Pavard seemed perfectly decent last season but he just is a liabiltiy defensively when he plays now.

I don't know what it is, Alaba and Boateng supposed to leave yet are our certain starters under Flick, RB spot in the balance with no ideal solution on the horizon, Flick plays Hernandez inexplicably rarely, our whole defense is a massive Baustelle at the moment, and it's hard to understand why it's so messy. Add to that the poor overall defensive behaviour of our team.

I would normally be unwaveringly confident about a CL last 16 game vs a club like Lazio, and I was, but I'm getting a bit scared now..

For next season i expect them to keep either Süle or Boateng and bring in a new RB. As you correctly phras it: it is a Baustelle!

Just read the kicker article, power struggle between the remaining two Hofmann buddies on the presidential board and Jansen who had pushed Hofmann out, and of course mustardtrucking billionaire Kühne still causing trouble in the background. This club :lol:
