Give a compelling reason your country will/won't win the EC 2020

England will win it because it's coming home. If anyone says otherwise, just talk over them. It's coming home.

England won't win it because they only score from set pieces, scruffy flukes and penalties at major tournaments.

England.

Will: scary attacking talent - strongest first 11 in decades - it's about bloody time.

Won't: several unfit players - it's England - turnip head potential is off the scales re Southgate.

Switzerland

We‘ll win it because our U17 World Champions should be on their peak by now. The Uefa Nations League Semifinal showed what‘s possible.
Plus Shaqiri has great new hair.

We won‘t because Xhaka is our captain and the one who holds the keys.

Wales win: because France won’t
Wales don’t win: because France do

France (adopted country) win: because Wales don’t
France don’t win: Because Wales do

Scotland

We will win it just to make sure England cant

We wont win it because were Scotland

Switzerland

We will win it because:
1. Because we have a good coach who gets the maximum out of the available player material.
2. We then somehow manage to realise and absolute miracle

We won't win it because:
1. the available player material is average and has no top class players
2. Shaqiri looked unfit, slow and desintressed in our friendly at the weekend (I would even drop him from the starting eleven tbh)
3. We can't win knockout games or penalty shootouts.

Yeah Granit Xhaka will be the reason we won't win the Euros. We're blessed with worldclass players throughout the squad and he's the one holding us back.;)

Agree with Shaqs new hair though, looks brilliant. Unfortunately he looks unfit and absolutely not ready otherwise. Don't know what he's doing all the time in Liverpool:lol:

Norway won’t win because we didn’t qualify, think that’s the most compelling reason there is! Denmark did win it without qualification, so there is a tiny chance.

Scotland

- Will win it because miracles can happen

- Won’t win it because we aren’t really good at football or any other sport other than curling

Greece won it pretty much on set pieces

England

Will win it:
  1. Home advantage (all the games bar the quarter finals will be at Wembley, given England finish 1st in their group)
  2. Squad cohesion
  3. Set pieces
Won't win it:
  1. Squad hasn't peaked yet, the golden generation of 2017 hasn't fully come through yet (World Cup 2022 could be great for us)
  2. Southgate dodgy tactics (5 at the back with 2 DMs :( )
  3. Tough route to the final.

USA

Will win it: No one can gameplan our lineup because even the manager doesn't know what it will be.

Won't win it: Not a UEFA member. And we didn't even make the last World Cup. And we just missed qualifying for the Olympics for the fourth time in five cycles.

England could win the Euros because it has an absolutely fantastic squad of players.

England won’t win the Euros because it has an incredibly incompetent manager in charge.

Southgate isn't the only issue that could hold England back, it's our central midfield too.

We're desperately relying on Henderson to get himself fit and into form, as he's a fundamental aspect of our team under Southgate.
Practically anything decent we do generally starts from Henderson's presence in midfield.

His influence, passing range and composure is somewhat underrated to some extent.

Sure our back ups are ok in Phillips and Jude, who will be occupying similar role to Henderson though neither have the experience or leadership.

Rice will be playing as the out-and-out DM, so there's very little expectancy on him moving the ball progressively and Mount works better off the forward line-which will likely be a Kane and two wide players either side of him.

So I reiterate, Henderson is massively important to this side.
