I know what you mean but surely they've played enough football last season and over the euros to be okay? You'd think some needed a rest.

Can't see being many match fitness issues just they won't have trained collectively together much.

If Cavani isn't ready then I think Greenwood up top and James on the wing. I don't know if Shaw will be fit either, left back could be a problem with Telles out too.

From the other thread. Defence is a bit of a concern with lack of pre-season minutes. I don't know if getting a point would be a good result.

Heaton played 180 mins already, why would ole pick Henderson over Heaton? and there are two games left in the pre-season. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Going to assume nobody from the Euros and Copa semi finalists due to return dates and limited training before first game (not exactly sure when they're all back?). Not sure on the status of Cavani or Henderson. As of now:

Heaton
Wan Bissaka Varane Lindelof Dalot
VDB Matic
Greenwood Bruno Pogba
Martial

Obviously keepers don't need much training, but if Heaton keeps starting every pre season game he'll probably start the first game. Shaw had broken ribs plus played the final of the euros so I don't think will be rushed. We can get by without Maguire for a game or 2, but I suspect he'll be rushed. Fred played the final of the Copa, Rashford injured and Sancho possibly will be given a bit of time, and then Martial hopefully will be fully fit so all around picking strong/balanced team but also the most fit.

Dont think we will be anywhere near full strength , Rashford and Shaw both out, and I don't think he will thrust in Sancho and Varane straight away. Gonna be a tough game

If your team doesn’t have Greenwood and AWB in then you’re wrong. They are the only first teamers to play the whole thing.

It's often the way in pre-season after a tournament you'll have players who have completed the entire pre-season but when the first competitive game comes along they're sat on the bench in favour of someone who might not of even kicked a ball in weeks

That being said yes AWB and Greenwood will definitely be in the XI

That's the main two points, they needed adequate rest then time together to play. We'll likely have a slow start I predict, due to these issues. Hopefully not!

Above is the worst case scenario for me barring injuries. Sancho will not be "match fit", Rashford will not have the surgery and Ole may favour James against Leeds. I personally hope to see this below:
