We will start next season with mcfred in the middle of the park.

AGAIN.
Just commented on another thread about this same thing. Completely agree that this is very likely indeed. I think we might get Timber and *possibly* a backup player for one of the full back positions and that'll be the lot. We don't look to have planned much and we'll no doubt be reading about 'preparing a bid' for someone like De Jong all summer without anything actually happening.

That is too pessimistic. But we will as always be late and will be baulking at the asking prices. I think we will sign Timber and Laimer before June 27th. Then Nunez and Sangare during July. We are an extremely poorly run club.

Just don’t get your hopes up fellow fans. I think we will be just as frustrating and potentially rubbish this upcoming window as in the past.

Add to the fact we have been absolutely dog shit this season, I doubt many are jumping at the chance to come here.

That's because everybody at the club are convinced that ETH has a magic wand or something & will transform Maguire in to a world class CB & McFred in to the best midfield duo that UTD & the world has ever seen, oh, and Martial will return to score 40 PL goals next season, just like we thought Ralf would be the best man utd manager ever because Tuchel, Pep & Klopp learnt everything they knew from Ralf.

Looks like the backline is the priority and the most solid and believable rumours indicate we might have Timber and Pau Torres in sooner rather than later. Nunez is the most concrete link as a forward, last I read is he definitely wants a PL move but the lack of CL football is an obstacle. Midfield targets, I think we are considering options but waiting for the smoke to clear on Frenkie first. Barca keep protesting that they want to keep him but if they pull off some of the other moves they are planning it is hard to see them meeting the salary cap requirements.

ETH supposedly held out on signing until he got assurances over transfer activity, budget and control and has followed up by indicating he wants us wrapped up before pre season begins so that gives us a timeline of around 5 weeks from today with June 27th the start for pre season training. I remain hopeful but realistic.

With our non existent midfield any defense will look shaky. The main problem has always been in the middle of the park, everything else is a symptom of it or gets exaggerated because of it.

I will have absolutely no faith in the club being able to get transfers right until they actually get a few things right. At least there are contracts winding down so there will be some guaranteed departures.

My exact thoughts. Murtough has it all to prove, I remain unconvinced by him.

Sometimes it feels like the club only gets started on transfer business once the season ends.

Seasons been over for less than 48 hours yet no players have been signed. Unbelievable
continuing your season and planing your summer signings early is not mutually exclusive. We need to give ETH every possible chance to start the season well.

People having a meltdown a few days after the season ending? The window isn't open yet and we've just ironed out our staff. It'll happen just relax.
Why does this nonsense get posted every season?

The transfer window is a registration window. Transfer business is done year round. Any club that waits until the end of the season to start working on transfers will be left behind.

You realise our manager just started last week?

And you're kidding yourself if you don't think for every team the majority of business happens during the window. Most players don't want to think about their future till the end of the season as they are focusing on their teams playing season.

Barca Kessie. Juve Pogba. City Haaland. Liverpool Carvalho. Spurs Forster (and Romero). Inter Onana.

Most of these clubs did excellent Business in January too while United sat on their hands.

They’ve known Ten Hag has been coming for months and from the outside looking in, still doesn’t seem any transfer stuff is imminent
None of them European clubs are our rivals!
And bar City, no one club in the premiership have strengthened.

So much drama! :lol::lol:

I hope that by now we've at least identified our targets. We should start worrying if no one has been signed before the start of pre season.

People are talking all year round for sure.
But not with the club's.

Otherwise all transfers would happen as soon as the window opened!

All of those European teams are in the same market as United

Dont see your point whatsoever, or what’s funny

Alas, we are not on the same market any more.
We have to be more savvy on the market this window.
We had no chance of Haaland, and the rest of the players are either not what we need (Forster, Pogba is an ex player, Onana) or are no better than what we already have (Kessie, Romero)

So that's what's funny. The fact that we are already experiencing melt downs over Fraser fecking Forster.

Not though are we. You’re simply missing the point time and time again and thinking everyone else is. Should call you Boris

So you think if us and Barca or City are all in for the same player, that player will choose us over both of them?

If you believe they would, then it will be you who is missing the point.

My gut says that the rumours about a tight budget are true. Avram Glazer was quick to point out that they have spent plenty of money in the past, and that feels like he's making that point so that the club can fall back on this point when little is spent.

I think we're working mostly on sales with a view to increasing the buying budget and then the whole 'preparing a bid' fiasco will begin. I suspect that is why we're linked with De Jong. So that when we barely spend anything this summer, they can claim that we thought we would get him.

Wait, there are people genuinely concerned with lack of transfers on 25th of May?

We already tried for FDJ, Timber looks close to being done.. ETH mentioned the need to get the transfers spot on this summer, we will buy 4-5 players, have some patience and enjoy the muppetry.

This... Last season I was looking for rumours about our players being linked to other clubs. There were none, not a single damn rumour bar James.

Getting rid of players is crucial to getting new in because of wages being freed and some of the money paid for them will be available for new players. This summer we're freeing up loads of wages since so many players are leaving on a free. Hopefully this summer we're going to see some players under contract leave as well, like Jones, McT, Bailly, Martial and so on

As usual I doubt we have any backup midfield signings in mind in case we can't get FDJ, so it's entirely possible that we'll be seeing the McFred midfield linger on for another season. I do think Joel and Avram are hoping that Ten Hag can wave a magic wand over some of these players and when it becomes obvious after the first couple of games that he can't, we'll see some panic buys.

Nobody fancy letting the window open first?
We are strongly linked to a number of players, we know there have been meetings in Amsterdam, London and Manchester regarding recruitment, and Ralf and Erik have both addressed transfers in pressers. But no, let’s all panic and whine and moan.

Are you guys aware that the window hasn’t opened yet?
You can still negotiate deals though, the open window is to just register new signings. It’s still early but if in 2 to 3 weeks we’re still without a signing then it will be a concern. We start our preseason in July and ideally ten Hag can have all business done by the end of June.

FFS the manager started last week.
The pool of players good enough to play for Manchester United is very small.

There's probably about 20 midfielders who are up to standard with their current club willing to sell.

I'm a bit disappointed we haven't opened negotiations for someone yet.

It's important our first signing will be announced as soon as possible. Fans demand change and need positive news. Especially as there will be no club football in the next few weeks.
