Look, frankly its been a few hours now and nothing we've seen gives any indication of any change at the club. We have the same journos leaking the same stories, the results haven't improved, we've made no signings and we're still in the same position in the league as we were when he was announced.

It's high time we got over this dutch chancer and got behind a real, PL-proven beacon of charm, charisma and energy. ETH out. Brendan Rodgers in. Stop the feck-acting, Glazers. Give the real ultras what we want.

It does look to offer some hope:

- hiring one of the brightest managers in Europe, with a clear, elite coaching pedigree
- reportedly having transfer shortlists already built up to action come the summer
- the Technical Director/ DoF/ Deputy DoF changing the structure above the manager to a more modern system

Now we just need to get the players either on board or shipped out, and get the transfers nailed down sharpish so we can have a solid pre-season building this new style of play.

Too early to say yet, but on paper this is the most progressive decision the club has made in ten years. There is hope for the future for the first time in a long time.

We now actually have a wheel that turns. Ole was at the wheel but the wheel was stuck and we were headed towards a cliff.
We haven't turned yet.

Almost every United supporter know the secret ingredients for us to become successful again. It’s not some hidden knowledge that only a very few understands but the difficulty lies in trust from the board and the supporters, execution, resources available and patience.

The first hurdle is to sell or release all players who doesn’t fit into ten Hag‘s philosophy. This process will probably determine how long it will take to make us relevant again. If our CEO still see all players regardless of age and ability as assets in our balance sheet then our problems will continue. At least 3 starters 2 summer windows in a row together with a few new squad players is what it takes.

The second hurdle is if our supporters has patience enough to let our our new manager to fully implement his ideas. Can we stomach a couple of bad months in a row?

The third hurdle is if he will get a transfer budget big enough to buy top quality players and compete with Liverpool and City?

The final hurdle will be how well he will execute his ideas. In Amsterdam almost everyone inside the club knew about the Ajax model. Nobody questioned anything and no time was needed to explain the how’s and the why’s. Asking everyone inside the club to reset their minds and to believe in a new philosophy isn’t easy.

Erik ten Hag is asked to be the inventor of how Manchester United will play in the next decade. Attack. Attack. Attack. Possession. Intensity and plenty of Goals. That’s a huge challenge that needs trust and patience.

Manager wise yes, structurally maybe.
Results time will tell and I mean a long time.

Guaranteed we go on a rough three game spell the usual suspects will start baying for blood “this isn’t the united way”.

We are just playing catch-up still. Ten Hag’s first signing they say might be Neves. The same player we should have signed last summer but didn’t the one season we actually needed him!

Similar to Mou and Harry Maguire, he wanted him a year earlier. End of the day we are still signing similar players to those wanted by Ole regardless. Hardly amazing work.

Someone at the club is getting a raise if fans are easily pleased like this. Getting the manager, even if the right one is still just a starting point. There is a long way to go. I meant you can piss off the best manager there is and have him leave the soonest if people at the club act like clowns, undermining him.

Not playing devils advocate here but while I agree Ten Hag seems to have a great future ahead of himself, he has been in management 10 years and had success with a great young team.

Every team has transfer targets in place before the window. I’m not really sure how it’s positive unless your club has continued the scatter brain approach of 2013.

Finally given how RR does not understand the roles of certain members of staff do you truly believe you have fixed your backroom set up? From the outside it truly seems like your club has one of the worst set ups around and renaming job titles hasn’t really changed that.

Yes if ETH gets his players and offload the lazy ones in current squad.

Knowing how our board operates, we’re still processing the fact that there’s a corner to be turned

No. Its not coming home. We are not getting any better. Any player and or manager that joins will end up being unhappy and unsuccessful.

No. We've barely seen the corner from behind all the frontrunners.

Well... I'm not sure if we've turned the corner yet, but things are changing. We're starting to make some good decisions. I think for once, we actually have a long term strategy in place. Only time will tell whether the corner has been turned.

i think yes. chelsea’s meek capitulation over the past few weeks can only be seen as a direct result of them being worried that we might appoint ten hag. city and liverpool have largely kept it together but i think that was in the hope that he wouldn’t be announced. give it a month or so and i reckon both city and liverpool will go weeks without a win between june and the start of august. we’re back. and they are scared.

We've definitely turned a corner, but how many more corners will we take again? perhaps what we need is a straight.

It's too early, mate. We've turned a corner by actually hiring a good candidate, but success isn't promised. He could be great and still win nothing. That's the reality of the PL, it's so tough right now. Chelsea haven't won it in 5 years, Arsenal in 18... everybody starving out here
