Barca lost to some shite in the CL a couple of years back, so shite that I cat even remember their name, was just an off day for them, as Basel was for us, means feck all.

Actually it means a lot. Barca may have lost one game, but they topped the group.

We not only lost to basel, but we came 3rd in a group of 4.

So it was more then just the one ... off day as you put it.

Nope, but people are claiming that they are better than what they have currently proven.

Just look at this thread, for me there is no question that we have a better defence than them and certain people aren't even sure if Vidic would get in there? I mean, wtf.

Real are a good team for sure, but are they better than say Chelsea? I'm not so sure.

Unless you didn't watch the group stages I''ll just let you know what happened there.

SAF saw that we had an easy group, and because of this he played weakened teams for most of the group stage.

So yes, it's a straw man argument.

Had we played our best side through the groups then you'd have a point, but then, had we done that we'd have topped the group.
