So if he misses any pre-season or actual season how does he get disciplined; without hurting the team and the club further?

The best I can come up with is; clean the changing rooms, wash the kit, serve in the canteen?

It was on the list of countries the club told them not to go to; he's going to miss either pre-season training and or beginning of the season -- it was highly irresponsible. He's let his team and the club down - possibly.
