I'm with Pogue here, the Swedish goal was brilliant, the player had it under his own control throughout though. What makes Van Basten's goal so special is the 'David Platt' element to it (Belgium 1990 if you don't have a clue what I'm on about)
Hmm. Thing is any pub player with a decent shot on him could potentially score a MvB goal. I have, in training. To score a goal like the one in Sweden you'd have to have brilliant technique and awareness in addition to a decent shot.

I don't think I could disagree much more, van Basten's was out of this world, it needs must more than a decent shot, I have nearly done a MvB but hit the post when stood still, to do it that accurately, clearly meaning it (unlike the swede) and on the move.
