ffs
In hindsight, it was a bizzare move, but Bony was class at Swansea. He's alright. Tier 2 or 3 striker, I think most people rate him pretty fairly. Moving him on for Bony was indeed fecking bizarre though.
Only 9 goals this season in Serie A for Roma though.
Just know Italy will fluke a goal somehow.
Need a 2nd here.
He was good at Swansea, but really didn't fit in whatsoever with the way City were planning on playing, especially since the Guardiola move had been in the works for a while. In hindsight, it was a bizzare move, but Bony was class at Swansea.
Agreed. Pellegrini bought him and played him up top with a strike partner. Didn't suit him at all! At Swansea, from what I can remember, he was like a false 9, with the wingers running in behind. He was good at Swansea, but really didn't fit in whatsoever with the way City were planning on playing, especially since the Guardiola move had been in the works for a while.
Their u21 squad for thr coming Euros looks very strong. Kean looks a massive talent. Lot of hype around Tonali.Meh, the midfield is decent (although Jorginho is a bang average sideways merchant and the Italian Joe Allen) but zero quality forwards other than Insigne who I really don't rate. Other than Quagliarella, but very unlikely he'll still be doing it by the Euros.
Couple of decent cb options still in Chiellini/Bonucci but they're gunna be pretty old by the Euros. Pretty garbage fullback and keeper options as well.
Can't see anything special in the side, certainly less talent there than pretty much every top European nation (England, Spain, Belgium, Germany, France, Netherlands etc), the side is definitely one of the most underwhelming Italy teams I've seen in a long while.
I rate Kean highly, haven't seen enough of Tonali but have heard some buzz.Their u21 squad for thr coming Euros looks very strong. Kean looks a massive talent. Lot of hype around Tonali.
Yeah it's actually ridiculous how is he toying with them. Even me as his biggest fan thought he was slowly getting done at highest level, but he is tearing them apart today. We are also playing really well, which is something I didn't expect with lack of talent in our team.Dzeko is taking the absolute piss out of our defenders
Had a bad season this season also had a poor one in his first season at Roma but every other season he's been prolific his entire career. Tier 2 is about right I'd say, he's not up there with the Agueros, Suarez, Kanes etc.. but he's better than he gets credit for. A lot of my view is probably based on the fact City fans used to tear him to shreds, calling him out for things which weren't true like a poor first touch etc...He's alright. Awful. It better have bobbled.Bale had to score there.
It helps having De Bruyne and Hazard on the wings with Meunier and Thorgan overlapping in stead of let’s say Martial, Young and Lingard...Lukaku is a poacher - a box player. Give him service in the box and he will score goals.
Yeah, he's generally been a pretty reliable source of goals. I think he's one where his build and size gets him stereotyped by fans as 'big man who lacks technique' and it can be tough to get past those labels.Had a bad season this season also had a poor one in his first season at Roma but every other season he's been prolific his entire career. He gets crucified, I think now maybe they look back on him a bit more fondly but when he was at the club he got savaged. And yeah, at his best a tier 2 striker and a great player to have as a backup. Surely he has cult status at City due to the goal which got you back in the game at QPR?
Odd. I've always been very impressed by his first touch, he always seems to have time when he controls the ball, especially for a big man.Had a bad season this season also had a poor one in his first season at Roma but every other season he's been prolific his entire career. Moving to City was a wrong move, especially when you had Aguero, if he moved for example to United, or Chelsea, he would be rated even higher. Even though, his City career turned out quite fine too. But Mancini couldn't wait to play fecking Balotelli ahead of him, and Aguero is Aguero, there isn't single striker in the world who could compete with Aguero at City, and Dzeko actually did fine, even benched him at times from what I can remember.Had a bad season this season also had a poor one in his first season at Roma but every other season he's been prolific his entire career. Yup, I could never wrap my head around that, for a big man, he's got a fantastic touch. He's no Berbatov in terms of tekkers but he's very good. Expecting him to have the touch of players surrounding him like Kun, David Silva, Nasri, Tevez etc.. was crazyOdd. The manliest name ever is Staff Sergeant Max FightmasterRandom thoughts.
Is Gareth Bale’s hair a genius post-modern homage to the Samurai, or inspired by an extra in Mad Max film?
After seeing Iceland’s first goal was scored by Ragnar Sigurdsson, I wondered, is there any name one can bestow upon a male child that would all but guarantee their impregnability and masculinity than Ragnar? For example, has there ever been any situation where somebody’s drunk mate in the pub said, “Hold my pint, I’m going over to fecking sort out Ragnar right fecking now.” and it ended well? Thought not. Ragnar, what a name.
Bit silly. I definitely don't recall him being a failure at City at all, certainly not a roaring success but a decent backup striker who had his good and bad moments, which is what you can pretty much expect from a substitute striker. He gets crucified, I think now maybe they look back on him a bit more fondly but when he was at the club he got savaged. Anglo Saxons.Random thoughts.

It does, but he didnt have that quality at Everton. Its just the way you set up, in order to get the best out of him, and Mourinho didnt really do that, which is a shame given how much we paid for him.It helps having De Bruyne and Hazard on the wings with Meunier and Thorgan overlapping in stead of let’s say Martial, Young and Lingard...
Turkey does pretty bad playing against decent teams away, that's why they don't make into WC since 2002.Did anyone see the Turkey/France game the other day? Was it a case of Turkey playing really well or France just being legitimately awful?
Seems the latter with how Turkey are playing tonight.
