Huge pressure on us to get an heroic away win at Gibraltar to finalise our qualification.

So we (Norway) are relying on Israel (yuck) to qualify directly for us to get the final playoff spot. Naturally they’ve turned to shite here. No idea why they were favorites for this match.

Bit brutal for them having to play four matches in ten days due to "circumstances" meaning they couldn't play last month.

Bit of a long shot now them getting above Swiss and Romania.

And yet it would feel very them to somehow feck that up. *Insert feverish finger pointing blame in the Dutch camp*
I think not even Koeman will be able to achieve defeat against Gibraltar, don't worry.

Last night was a bit of a free hit. They will beat Andorra and had to beat Romania at ‘home’ anyway.

Then it comes down to matching Romania’s result in the other fixture (both at home vs Swiss).

Do Ireland still have to lose to us to keep a chance at playoffs?
It doesn’t matter because you’ll beat Gibraltar and qualify regardless. Ireland are too far away from the playoff cutoff anyway so that theory is irrelevant now.

Yeah, not really worried we'll fail to qualify. Just a very weird situation if losing would help them.

I'm quite convinced we will beat Ireland as well honestly :wenger:

Can't believe we have put our playoff fate in the hands of Israel. These cnuts look like they've never kicked a ball before.

Seriously, you'd be better off recruiting 11 random Levites from the Tribe of Levi than expecting that team to do any favours.
 They actually looked half competent in the second half. Denied a stonewall handball pen by Taylor and Twatwell. Rescued a point late on which can turn out to be crucial.

For Norway to get a playoff these results must happen:

- Israel to beat Romania at 'home' (they start the game as small favorites).
- Israel to beat Andorra (should be a walk in the park).
- Switzerland to avoid a loss in Romania (assuming Romania lose to Israel, Swiss will need a point to finish top).
- Serbia to finish ahead of Montenegro (5 point lead but Montenegro have a game in hand, Serbia just need a draw at home vs Bulgaria).

Probably about 30 % chance. It all relies on Israel-Romania really. I don't see Israel winning that one unfortunately. Neutral ground, 3rd game in 7 days and Romania have been solid defensively so far.

Love mctominay’s post match comments.
Didnt watch the game but it’s about time players started calling each other out on this type of stuff.

McTominay's seven goals is impressive form. That must be one of the better returns in euro qualifying campaigns from a midfielder.

Colombia currently beating Brazil 2-1. Two headers by Lucho Diaz. Seeing his recently freed father celebrate was heartwarming.

Brazil has been unbelievably shit this cycle under both caretakers. Feel like our unbeaten home record in qualis is going to come to an end against Argentina in a few days.

You'll be hoping to do more in front of goal than the Dutch U21s did last night, pretty toothless display from Jong Oranje against Gibraltar. Good news there though is young James Scanlon didn't look too out of his depth.

Yeah our under 21 is a bit dire at the moment. The seniors have a bit more firepower with Xavi Simons and Gakpo up top. Well, and Wout :wenger:

Christ what’s going on with Sweden?
They don’t want to embrace modern football. Which is kind of admirable but also means you get left behind on the field.

The consequence of their 51 % rule is less capital coming into their football. The game at the elite level can’t be ran as non-profit if you’re serious about competing against all other nations/federations.

That’s amazing. Was listening to Tim Vickery talking about this in a podcast. Colombia had gone seven games without scoring and he played in all of them. To break his duck with a brace against Brazil in front of his dad is really fairytale stuff.

Pretty lucky for you guys it's six automatically through now as if it was just four you'd be following a similar path to Argentina in the 2018 qualifiers, scraping through in final round after a 2-3 coaching changes.

Brazil in real transition with mediocre selections at full back and in midfield and not helped losing likes of Casemiro and Neymar when they need experience to guide the younger players in final third.

Increase in qualifiers guess it means you can wait a year for someone like Ancelotti to turn up.
