SRH absolutely wrecking MI’s here. 180/3 after 13 overs with Klaasen just settling at the crease as well. :nervous:

Theyd do well to keep this under 240/250
From what I've seen over the last 12 months, Klaasen is the most destructive force in T20 cricket.

If you like fireworks in an innings, he's your guy.

Yep, he’s been absolutely insane in this format. Probably a toss up between him and SKY as the current top T20 batsman. Also lit up our domestic T20 competition.

Sick and tired of supporting Delhi. Ponting as a pundit speaks all the right things but when as a strategist, he does everything opposite. It is like he himself doesn't know his players.

Another long boring season for delhi.

Not a serious franchise, from top to bottom completely clueless with no real planning around what they are doing. Today was actually an interesting contrast between a well run team and a poorly run team

Why would you even send a young inexperienced player in Ricky Bhui to face a brute pace bowler in Burger when Bhui's strength is playing spin. And playing sumit kumar who doesn't bowl nor bats. Funny how RR is utilizing the impact sub so well and here are Delhi, playing with 10 players.

They’ve executed well today (& barring a late Dhoni surge, should win with comfort), but yeah, seems another long season ahead.

Happy for Pant today, been a long road back but man India needed him badly at several points over that span

A very surprising result and I loved it. This could turn our season but not expecting much.

Another poor season on cards for RCB.

Btw what a find Mayank Yadav is. Making otherwise a boring Lucknow side interesting

Mayank Yadav looks amazing. The pace speaks for itself, throw in the natural shape he gets coming back in and the snap of the wrist which means the ball skids on and doesn’t lose much pace and we’re talking about a serious, serious bowler here. Hope he stays healthy and I cannot wait to see knock a few Australians over at the end of the year.

Buttler, just brilliant. Enjoy watching him in full flow.

Rajasthan are some team. Hope they win it this time.

When Virat Kohli bats 50 balls, the team loses 96% of the time.

Someone forwarded me this stat and I wonder if it’s true? I’m able to believe it. He’s a terrible t20 player and RCB are married to him.

He isn't a great T20 player but RCB are the problem. Batting and bowling are both crap. I actually think Kohli should ask for a release before the next auction.

India need to move on from Rohit and Kohli, but we aren't as stacked as we think we are.

The IPL impact sub rule means (IMO) India isn't winning a T20 WC anytime soon. No all rounders. Nobody so far to replace Kohli and Rohit. Not genuine fast bowler after Shami / Bumrah. Cupboard is bare IMO

He is such a big player that when you sign him a) you have to pay big money from your purse(so it takes away from your total kit) b) you have to play him in top 3 -- he eats up balls and it forces everyone else down a particular strategy of batting. When people say that "the rest of them didn't deliver", I think it should also be evaluated why someone like Shivam Dube didn't deliver at RCB but is doing well elsewhere. There are loads of examples like this. When you draw up your team sheet and stick a guy who makes 40 off 35 in the first ten as your opener, there's not a lot of tactical flexibility being offered.

In yesterday's game, Faf did poorly too but the rest of them barely got 5 balls. I don't think it should be acceptable to end a T20 innings with 3 of our middle order having faced < 5 balls unless you've struck at significantly above par.

Virat was on 38 off 35 at one point. At this point, if he hits a few fours and gets out with a strike rate of 140, it looks good. But the base that has been built for the team matters. You want to be ahead of par off the blocks as much as possible. He has done this a lot for India where he puts them below par in first 8 and he himself looks above par at the end of his own innigns. I don't believe it's a coincidence that he has played 15+ years, and we've seen this again and again with his teams.

I wouldn't absolve RCB of all the sins. They make plenty of blunders, but they've now gone through so many coaches and every one fails to deliver at RCB.

I agree with the point on all-rounders. It's a terrible rule for Indian cricket - may be they put it in place to squeeze more seasons out of Dhoni for monetary reasons?

I agree that India are weak in T20. It's our worst format. I'd go something like: Rohit, Jaiswal, Gill, Surya, Jadeja, KL, Pandya, Chahal, Bumrah, Siraj, Shami(is he fit for WC?)

It is really hard to pick bowlers for India after Bumrah. The batting has too many anchors. Can't even pick a wicketkeeper..

I don’t think the culture of the IPL quite helps India generate the most effective T20 players, there’s a lot of talent but sometimes the mindset is a little off or the setups of the teams mean they develop very specific and similar skills. Batting wise for instance it feels like everyone becomes an opener which means there’s always a hole for a specialist finisher and the openers bat so long, the finishers don’t get a chance to finish!

I’d have Dube, Mayank Yadav and Abhishek Sharma on my list of bolters who can break into the squad for the World T20. I don’t understand why the T20 side just isn’t always picked on form, conditions etc. Seems so sensible to just carryover the confidence players generate from the IPL rather than insist Rohit/Kohli/KL all have to play in the same team (although Rohit deserves a ton of credit for modernising his short format game in the last 12-18 months)

Yup - all true.

And I have also wondered why T20 sides arent picked on form. Australia won 2021 T20 world cup with a dog shit squad, the World T20 is a lottery tournament in a lottery format..

For me the problem is that Faf and Kohli are kind of the same trick. Amazing batsmen but not always destructive enough, ok captains, good fielders, can't bowl. If I've got one of those guys to build an innings round already I don't want to waste one of my overseas spots on a 2nd. You want to be packing pinch hitters round Kohli, perhaps ones who can also bowl. Jacks for example, or Narine, Hetmyer, Phillips, Livingstone, Russell, Maxwell, Stoinis etc etc.

What's even more funny is everytime India don't do well in T20wc the blame goes to IPL, when in fact I strongly believe we never pick the most in form and fearless players from IPL. It is always the tried and tested of rahul rohit kohli (who I still believe has a lot to offer in t20) jadeja. The same face who has failed us in many tournaments.

I agree with you on Abhishek sharma. Boy is an exciting talent and if the selectors were bold like in 2007, I would just have dropped all the seniors and given the captaincy to Sanju or Pandya and have Jaiswal and Abhishek open. Send a young but exciting team and ask them to play bold. Even if we lose , fine.

People always like too look RCB as some amazing side just because they have Kohli.

Yesterday the major questions should be asked to their management as wellnas to the likes of Maxwell who just has not delivered in IPL, ever.

I will still say put this Kohli in a CSK setup he will win trophies. I do agree he could be striking the ball more but even then the others have to stand up and play aggressive cricket. Faf has been a huge disappointment with the bat.

Would be interesting to see if rcb retains kohli next year or not.

Surely MI can’t feck this up. Romario Shepherd take a bow smashing 39 off 10 in the final overs.

While only 1 keeper can play I would select multiple ‘keepers’ in the first XI, think Samson, Kishan, Pant all required for India to do anything at a T20 tournament

I see RCB are once again the strongest team in the league....

....propping up the other 9 from the bottom of the table. :D

Travis Head just got his first 100 off 39 balls. Here’s another circa 240/250 on the cards here for the SRH.
They'll be disappointed with 240 now. Should look for 270, Klassen just warming up..

And they still get 287, the record score  RCB in total shambles
Team is so badly built you can’t hand over captaincy mid season and build for next. Because there’s no one.
