That's just bollocks though. The guy just scored 48 in 40. Definitely needs to improve though.

If you're talking internationally. Does anybody really care that he can't carry Poland on his own?

That's just nonsense and makes me think you've rarely watched him play. He drops back and drifts to the wing plenty, and does that very well even if that's not his main role. Creating chances out of thin air sounds nice and all, but which players consistently do that? Even Messi doesn't do that every match. It's an unrealistically high bar to set, even more so when playing with a team that isn't very good.

Well he did have a choice. He could have cried and left but he didn't he worked on his game from a striker and became a player with insane link up play that still scored a shit load of goals
 
He may be an excellent footballer but can he do this?

Think Lewandowski suffers the same problems as Ronaldo when they are playing for the NT. Both are expected to deliver the same output as Ronaldo had at Real Madrid or Lewa at Bayern. For Ronaldo it's even more visible against the top NT's, while Lewandowski I struggle to remember him at International Tournaments, great on the qualifiers, he scored a goal against Portugal in Euro 2016 but the pressure on players like him or Ronaldo for their countries is ridiculously high, even if on Ronaldo case he and his annoying fans don't help his cause tbh.

Because Lewandowski finishing is inconsistent, two years ago he scored 11 less goals than expected and this year 9 more than expected. Benzema is pretty much the same. We are not talking about Messi or even Griezmann who score way more than expected and for people that don't like stats, it's actually visible. Where Lewandowski excels and surpasses almost everyone is when it comes to be in goalscoring position, his stats are outrageous, Lewandoswki scores through exceptional volume not exceptional finishing.
 
Well, I'm a Pole and I can say he's nowhere near the level portrayed for us.
