I don't think its attempting to manipulate fan opinion so much as it sort of helps generate intrigue which gets reflected in the fact that the official announcements end up breaking records and generating tremendous worldwide buzz for the club.Good PR is getting the deal done. Winning a major trophy is the best PR. Manipulating the fans opinions regarding how the transfer is performed is useless. Even our poor dumb Woody understands that
United may or may not be in talks for Sancho. What's new lads?
Alternatives like Zaha?I'd walk away tbh. Its too much, I'm sure we can find an alternative.
A positive slant is they know exactly how to get a player out of Dortmund.Find that rather odd considering both Dembele and Auba forced their way out of Dortmund. Last thing they’d want is working with those agents.
It’s a clue to Pablo Escobar’s hidden billionsHow is that cryptic?
Suppose it’s something.A positive slant is they know exactly how to get a player out of Dortmund.
We're overpaying for a prospect. Fine as long as we can afford it but I don't think these transfer fees will be sustained in a post covid-19 world.Don’t get fans like you, have to be honest, really baffling.
If he’s an alternative then may as well stick with JesseAlternatives like Zaha?
When a half of your nation Including your grand grand parents were starved to death, put in GULAG, and plain murdered, you‘d understand what leftist ideas lead to. I hate Communism because I lived in a totalitarian regime. Even today, hundred of thousands ethnic Kazakhs are kept in concentration camps in China. I hate them with all my heart. As a chef de partie, I find this offensive.
Donno, not necessarily someone we know and is extremely high profile.Alternatives like Zaha?
No we’re not but whatever. We're overpaying for a prospect. Fine as long as we can afford it but I don't think these transfer fees will be sustained in a post covid-19 world.
We were missing Fellaini's aerial threat this season.Zaha is the new Fellaini without the cool hair
Paid in installments it certainly isn't too much.I'd walk away tbh. Its too much, I'm sure we can find an alternative.
He’s not a prospect, though. Look at his stats for the past two seasons, and compare those with wingers all around the globe. He comes out top 10 at minimum. We're overpaying for a prospect. Fine as long as we can afford it but I don't think these transfer fees will be sustained in a post covid-19 world.
Exactly. I just feel the media nowadays creates gossip as news and most of their work is based on guesswork. Add Twitter and some attention seekers, its a bad combination of fake news.United may or may not be in talks for Sancho.
There may or may not be negotiations about money.
Twitter is full of attention seekers
This thread is full of muppets

But is it fair to call one of the most productive players in Europe a 'prospect'?https://www.statista.com/statistics/263304/transfer-fees-the-10-most-expensive-transfers-in-soccer-ever/#:~:text=The 222 million euro transfer, joint second in the list.
He's tied 6th with Griezmann if the 120 million euros figure is true, no?
I thought it's pretty clear he meant the structure of the instalments. It’s a clue to Pablo Escobar’s hidden billions
What makes you think that the money will all of a sudden dry out in football? We're overpaying for a prospect. Fine as long as we can afford it but I don't think these transfer fees will be sustained in a post covid-19 world.
Just found it somewhat random initially is all, nothing more. What's so funny about that?
What? I was deciding it and thought Escobar’s fortune is in Seville.I thought it's pretty clear he meant the structure of the instalments.
Probably not. I tihnk only Messi had a better G+A per 90 than him in Europes top 5 leagues last season. I think those two were the only two players to get 15+ goals and 15+ assists in the single season too. Sancho took no penalties or scored any free-kicks. He also only had 2 assists from corners. But is it fair to call one of the most productive players in Europe a 'prospect'?
If prospect was the word that triggered the reply, then I'll change it. Doesn't change the fact that 120 million in a post covid world seems too much. If we can afford it, fine, go through with it. Just giving my 2 cents. But is it fair to call one of the most productive players in Europe a 'prospect'?
You can’t see the joke? Poor you! What's so funny about that?
We’re paying for a 20 year old with one of the best outputs in the world who’s still got a lot of room for improvement. Similar talents have went for more in Mbappe and Dembele. If he didn’t have 2 years left on his current contract we’d be paying even more since Dortmund wouldn’t need to sell as they pretty much do or else they risk of losing him for far less next season or worse have his head turned by some club to leave on a free a season after. He’s one of the best young players in the world and the fee reflects this.https://www.statista.com/statistics/263304/transfer-fees-the-10-most-expensive-transfers-in-soccer-ever/#:~:text=The 222 million euro transfer, joint second in the list.

Awarding that length & value of contract on someone of his age was fraught with risk. Only since Ole has arrived has our transfer policy shown some long term vision. The deal became financially terrible the moment Sanchez failed to put up the expected numbers and it became clear that he never was going to become that player ever again. If it had worked, the numbers he was putting up at Arsenal would have been enough to help us qualify for the CL last season and that would have justified his contract because with CL football we would have revenues of around £600m to £700m.
He's also cheaper than Dembele and Joao Felix. I really don't think we're overpaying at all, if anything we are paying slightly less than what could be expected.https://www.statista.com/statistics/263304/transfer-fees-the-10-most-expensive-transfers-in-soccer-ever/#:~:text=The 222 million euro transfer, joint second in the list.

Your argument makes sense but covid doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon. I'm just thinking financially. I wouldn't be sad if we bought him, honestlyWhat makes you think that the money will all of a sudden dry out in football?
Don't underestimate the power of habbits. People are going to keep going to work every day, come home and cook dinner and crash on the sofa afterwards. It is just the way of the World for the middleclass and I can't see that changing any time soon. And as long as people do that the TV deals are only going one way.
The days of Vidic, Evra etc. are gone. We are in the top 3 biggest spenders and with one of the highest wage bills with very little to show for.Donno, not necessarily someone we know and is extremely high profile.
Some of our best signings have been low key out of the blue players like Chicharito, Vidic, Evra, Park, Tevez, etc. All of these players were relatively cheap and provided much more to the team than overpaid stars we have signed in recent years like Sanchez, Pogba, Lukaku, etc.
You were deciding it wrong. What? I was deciding it and thought Escobar’s fortune is in Seville.
Balls!
We are Manchester United. Why would we do that? When this happens shouldn't there be a red welcome to Manchester billboard put up with Sancho on it?
