Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

So this has probably already been discussed, but what does signing Sancho mean for Greenwood? Benched? Martial has had his greatest season yet, and Rashford is probably our biggest name so not gonna be dropped.

Greenwood on the bench ready to jump in if any of our front 3 are injured or underperforming. He's 18 and not ready to be starting 50 odd games a season - this gives him a couple of years to develop and without the pressure and physical strain of being a starting player - if he's good enough, he'll bench one of our front 3 and with them all being versatile, a reshuffle won't be too tactically arduous should he replace them.

Bad for us to be honest. The deal was worth 650million I think. Wonder how this affects our future transfers? Dortmund have to realize any chance of selling Sancho has to include a Covid discount.

Let’s be honest, they’ve been saying for the last two seasons that the current PL deal was a record one and the next one would be lower. All clubs have known this and planned accordingly which is why the ‘just pay the money’ gang don’t run football clubs or business.

Think it is too late now. Season starts soon. Look for other late options. We are at panic stage for transfers soon which I define as transfers after the season has started.

Indeed. Out of all the forwards we have Greenwood seems the most versatile. Sancho will probably be more limited in that regard. Mason will still have plenty of chances to shine. We re still only an injury or two away from being heavily neutered on the offensive end without the addition of Sancho.

Greenwood is benched, but then first off the bench when drawing / chasing a game and starts games when others need rest.

The good thing with having those 4 as our main choices is that they’re all quite versatile. You can rest Rashford and Sancho can move to the left with greenwood on the right. You can rest Martial with Greenwood up to, you can rest Sancho with Greenwood our right. You could even shift Martial out to the left and Greenwood up top if you wanted to keep Sancho on the right. Say Pogba AND Bruno are out, you can bring Sancho in as a number 10 and have rash Martial and greenwood as the front three whole VdB is pushed back into playing as a number 8.

They haven't paid us for a while, to be honest, so in terms of recent times, this isn't much of a loss.

Mark Goldbridge is still adamant this deal will get done within the next couple of weeks.

And that is good enough for me.

Muppets assemble!

We are going to be just fine.

The mail claiming that we're preparing a new bid as soon as we sort the agents fees
I think they're extending this off of the recent reports from James Cooper. They have nothing new to report.

Some insightful stuff from them there.

Hey guys the agent fees have been a hang up a bunch of sources said. Oh really? I have a headline for that when we run out to make it seem like we re in the know.

Yup but it’s sad still. I just want Dortmund to come to their senses.

You do realise that Goldbridge lives in cloud fecking cokoo land.

I’m not saying he knows anything but wasn’t Fekir going to Liverpool until they pulled out over the medical at the last moment?

Yes, they'd already made the first interview with him. Not sure if it was the medical or something about the fee.

Is he the one that does the United report thing on you tube? If so I remember a video where he was saying it was a done deal.

His channel is called the United Stand.

He had that Romano on there a few weeks ago, that’s the reason he’s said the deal is all but done it’s just a case of crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s

He is convinced Sancho is coming to United. It’s just his opinion.

Be nice when this shit is over and we can all get back to watching football!

The only man alive who makes Indykaila cringe.

Goldbridge makes daily videos where he summarizes the reports, and discusses whatever is asked by him in the live chat. I don't think that he's offered up any "inside scoop" on Sancho. I actually agree with his latest take on the matter, that it's an inevitability but they need to brief something where its on but will take time - and wages disputes can be the most amicable way to buy time on the matter.

I watched his channels for the first time in the past couple days and have only heard him give opinions like: "I think" or "I reckon" xyz is the case, in the past. He's had Fab on his channel before and goes by him or Falk etc. So if he thinks it's a matter of time, it's probably because tier 1 journalists reckon this is the case too.

Concerning Fekir and the Liverpool breakdown.
In an interview with L’Equipe, Fekir has now hit back at the ‘lies’ over his failed Liverpool switch and says the Reds used his previous knee injury as ‘an excuse’ not to sign him.

“Lots of lies were told and they affected me,” said Fekir

“Especially those told about my family. It hurt them and me. Especially when you know that’s what being told is false.

“What was said is not the truth. My knee is good – I had a quick medical check at Clairefontaine [France’s national training base] and my knee wasn’t even mentioned. If my knee had been in such a bad state, would [Lyon chairman Jean-Michel] Aulas have made [a huge offer to keep me]?

“But the worst thing is the idea that people could suggest that it’s because of my family that the transfer didn’t happen. It’s a lie. But you have to live with it.
“You want the truth? Even I don’t know – I promise you! I did my medical and then [Liverpool] decided not to sign me. At some point they wanted to have me believe it was because of my knee – but an excuse needed to be found.
“The medical tests that I did at Clairefontaine were very clear – my knee is perfectly fine and I feel fine. There are no issues at all with my knee.”

Is this meant to show he doesn't have a clue? Because Liverpool were basically an inch away from signing him till medical issues arose.

it meant not to cock out yet if you have been cock in all the time. But you can now.

The beauty of it is we can rotate all 4 forwards in any position. All 4 of them are versatile.

Sancho can play left wing and no.10 role as well. Some would argue he's even more dangerous from the left when he can cut inside and shoot. There will be many games where Rashford, Sancho, Fernandes or Martial can't play which is where Greenwood will get his minutes.

If this doesn’t happen in the next 30 hours, then we hit the weekend, and the stock market is closed. That’s then another week gone. Clearly our negotiation team have been tied up wrapping up the other deal, that’s why this has not progressed.

Next thing we know we will be signing up James on a new 5 year deal as we couldn’t get this over the line. If we could only get him in, then we would recoup half the transfer fee in short sales and image rights over the next 17 months.

To be honest, if we can’t get this done, it just shows what a shambles the club is, and that Ole is just a yes man, and if half inclined just to go and support Chelsea. Their coaches are better than ours, and they’ve won the transfer window, and even with a 35 year old Center back they are going to easily finish above us. If we can’t get Sancho, we might not even finish in the Europa places next season. Just look at spurs who have brought in Joe Hart, that’s got to be one of the signings of the season.

Woodward, Ole, Matt Judge and Phelen should all leave, just Glazer yes men. The only good thing about Phelen coming back to the club was that he wore shorts, and I’ve not even seen his knees now for 6 months. Pathetic.

Am I doing it right?

What it means for Greenwood, is that he won't be expected to play 50 or more senior games, out of position and be run into the ground. Happy days...!!!
Listen, nobody should have a golden ticket to play every game unchallenged regardless of their form.
Bringing in Sancho would give us 4 quality young players for 3 positions, meaning everyone has to produce the goods or they are benched, also as they are all inter-changeable, fatigue can be managed appropriately.

You cannot play a whole season successfully with only 11 or 12 first team standard players.

Yep, agree. Think people like to have a go at him because occasionally he'll stick his neck out and he'll get it wrong but most of his content is reporting on stories mentioned in the press and giving his opinion. I enjoy his content, don't agree with everything he says but he's entertaining and a fan like us, despite what some idiots say about him being a Forest fan.
