Jamie Carragher

One of my fave players but is becoming a caricature of himself with the silliness. He’s a good anlayst and should stick to just that.

I feel the same about Neville.

Brilliant analysing the game but the way talks with absolute certainty about matters outside of the pitch is really annoying and often wrong. Gives the impression he believes his own hype and I switch off my attention now.

Shame as I enjoy his game work and loved him as a player.

Jamie Carragher has pointed out PSG were given an unfair double advantage against liverpool by going first in the penalty shoot-out and also taking them in front of their own fans.

“One thing I couldn’t work out with the penalties was, obviously there was a coin toss with Virgil van Dijk [and PSG’s captain]. PSG must’ve won it to take it to the other end [away from the Kop] but then also took the first penalty. So I wasn’t quite sure what happened there. Normally you only get one advantage and the other team gets the first penalty.

Reporting from the game said that there was a coin toss for both elements, which end and who goes first and that PSG won both.

Which is entirely normal. It’s surprising that professional pundits don’t even know the basics. Actually not surprising, I expect a huge % of the ex players just run up and don’t do any research.

Apparently its been like that for years. You'd think Top Sky Sports Pundit James Carragher would know this.

It's been like that since at least the 2020 Euros.

Naturally this wasn't an issue for the 5 or 6 shootouts Liverpool have won since then.

Did Carragher not see the two coin flips?

On another note, how did Liverpool manage to shoot towards the cop in the second half of extra time but not the second half of normal time? Was there another coin toss?

Yes, there must've been another coin toss after 90 minutes. We had the same thing vs Fulham where we kicked towards the Stretford End in the second half of extra time but not the second half of normal time.

I mean... what more can you say, really. If they'll ever find themselves fighting for the Conference League, will he be arguing that it's a better competition than Champions League?

the tweet doesn’t correspond to the video.

Carragher even says that the FA Cup is more prestigious. He actually makes some good points, that getting to the League Cup final doesn’t really affect your PL games, whilst getting to the FA Cup final does.

The FA cup is steeped in History and tradition. I'd liken it to an open golf tournament.
Sure, it's often the top players who will win, but there's always a chance for the little guy.

They're just salty as it makes up part of 'The treble'. They don't have to worry about that now, though.

This. Would the FA Cup be played in the timeslots of the Carabao it would be better. I think that's a fair opinion to have.
