Jesper Blomqvist.

He had a good pre season 1999, I believe, before his injury. Would have been interesting to see how his second season would have gone.

It's weird that 1999 Champions League final was his last appearance for us. Being replaced by Sheringham was his final moments, if you like.

He was a good player and did well for us that season. He would have got better to, had it not been for injuries, which is a huge shame. Certainly not a flop and provided good cover, particularly when we needed it in games like the final!

Pob's record since leaving OT might beg to differ, in terms of the bigger picture.

Certainly whilst at OT though, Jesper was far better.

Poborsky gets some stick for his time with us, but he was another one that did better than some might say. He was up against Beckham to get a spot on that right hand side and anyone who remembers Beckham in 96/97 knows how impossible that was. He did alright for us.

He certainly lacked confidence, and it showed. I just remember his first touch being dire at times, and full backs repeatedly getting the better of him.

Was really pleased to see him go on to do well at Lazio.
