Watching him in his first season, I always felt he could have been better than he should have been.

Great servant for the club don't get me wrong. But I was just surprised he couldn't surpass his first season.

Yeah, theres a few stories like that of him floating around (something to do with his local club I cant remember the details of offhand), he sounds like a really classy genuine guy.

Just thinking how insane that goal at Anfield was, one of those unforgettable moments that was a defining moment that season and bought him a lifetime of good will from all of us

Looks like he's struggling to get over the line until he retires when he plays these days. Nearly 36, so probably the right time to bow out. Loved him as a player, though. He was the perfect player you need in a 60 game season. A player who will overachieve and take his chance when he gets given one.
