Please, make it (+FDJ) happen.
Don't care who else comes tbh (but obviously we need more).

Yep, at a minimum these two would instantly improve our ability to play out from the back.

Given the state of our squad now, every random PL team knows we're shit when they press our goal kicks and exploit this to their advantage. Still a lot of room for improvement in many different aspects of the game, but it will at least plug one gaping hole.

Yes will make us play better out from the back.
But not sure it will improve our defence.

I fancy this to be our first signing this window. Clearly we're pushing and I don't see Ajax or the player being an issue. Get this one in the bag then focus on FDJ, a striker and a another CB / CM.

We need a RW more than we need a striker, especially if Ronaldo is staying. At best buy a young striker that wouldn't cost much and has good enough potential to contribute as a squad member (a Jota/Alvarez). I think the big money signing for the forward position should be on a RW.

I think he can in the same way Delph could play left back in the correct system. The question is could we set the team up for that to succeed.
I’m sure he’s already played that sort of role, or inverted fullback. It will be interesting if he’s brought in to see what actually happens as Shaw is clearly capable of the same thing so will they both play as inverted fullbacks. Will one stay to make it a back 3 in possesion whilst the other steps up in to midfield or will they play as more traditional fullbacks or one will.

I feel like they will be used to more solidify the base of attack to let the rest all push forward and rotate so it maybe looks something more like this in possesion.

DDG
Timber Varane Maguire
DeJong— Shaw
-Nkuku-VDB—Bruno-Sancho
Nunes/Ronaldo
Timber and Shaw rotating responsibility then getting back in to shape of a 4231 when defending. Front 5 rotating at will.

Freek Jansen is another top source for Ajax and works for the very reliable Voetbal International.

From the translation it seems he's reporting similar to what Mike Verweij has about Timber's reps meeting United in England and ten Hag wanting to sign Timber. He also says that Ajax will have to sell if the player doesn't renew due to the fear the player runs his contract down to the last year of his contract like Gravenberch has.

What impresses me most about Timber is that he is a leader already at such a young age. He is vocal and shown the ability to organise a defence.

Timber, FDJ and Nunez will be our signings for the budget. Rest all will depend on who leaves.

We will get a full back as well...see what ETH can do with Amad, Garner, Hannibal and bring back Donny. That’s an influx of 8 players all ready to impress the gaffer at least. Should give some of the fuking chancers in the dressing room food for thought.

The most reliable United-based journos are saying Midfield and Attack are the two priorities. And that would be well-sourced.

Unless Ten Hag sees Timber developing into a DM for the Premier League?

Both Mengi and Timber are on the small side for CBs . We will need a tall CB beside either.
Varane is what 6 foot 3 and 29... so think we are fine for a tall experience cb for the next few years

Mengi is a long way off getting a chance for united... he started 7 games in the championship this year (none in 2022) and has not even made the England u21 team yet

Liking the names we’ve been linked with so far… all our signings should be ones to improve the starting 11 and then we can look at upgrading the squad depth later on. DM, CB and ST are priorities for me. If we can get any bonus signings then it needs to be a full back.

I think its looking pretty obvious that he will be a ManUtd player sooner rather than later. Interested to see where he plays, I hope its at CB with Varane. Don't want to see us playing a back 3 and don't think he'd make a great RB either.

Yet Mourinhos team was mocked and derided as land of the giants. Club can’t win.
I'm not sayin I'm a fan of my midfielder or winger or striker to be a giant, but the CB in PL needs to be at least 186-7+ in order to not get killed every game.
