About time we did this more like Chelsea.

Sign the best young players, loan them abroad if we have to. Plenty of clubs would love a young talent like that.

He either gets good enough to join the first team, or we sell him for a tidy profit.

Check him out. He’s definitely talented.

He (on that clip) seriously reminds me of a young lanky Portuguese we had before. Those speed, bravery, trickery.

Even if he fails to make it as winger here, at least we'll have a new LB.

He looks talented, I just don't see how we can incorporate so many young wingers into our squad. I do love a signing like this and would absolutely love to see a Ghanaian playing for us, but this is one of those 'I won't believe it until it's happened' scenarios. If we're getting Sancho, then surely there are more important positions that need money thrown at them.

Looks, strong, fast and skilful.

Definitely worth an investment for the future. It's the type of business BvB has done over the last many years and made based its business model on such gems.

I know it is our DNA to play wingers but this is taking the piss isn’t it?

Dont know if the info is real or just agents work. But if its real then i think its a combination of slight change from our policy to try to get many talented youngsters that we can and loan them out albeit not to the extreme like Chelsea.

Its not a bad thing to get a few more talented youngsters like him with low fees and loan out for a couple season and see if they become good to play for the club, if not, we can always sell. Its really not much different then trying to buy talents like him in 2/3 yrs from now from Ajax with 2/3 times the cost.

ITK's are saying our interest is being driven by the agent trying to fish out extra interest. i.e. we're not in for him at all

Really dont know at this point. We did have the interest for him with Ajax. Then Ajax bid and from there it looks like Ajax got the player. And now with all these infos came out. However, he looks talented with the dribbling, pace, and directness. If its true that we want to swoop in and get in last minute then im happy.

Yeah. Norway is a band 6 league. Unless I’m reading the document wrong we can’t sign any players from that league unless they’re regular internationals.
Good job he plays in Denmark then, as far as i am aware he satisfied the work permit by playing for Ghana in May.

Under the new post-Brexit transfer rules Sulemana does not currently have enough points to gain a work permit in the UK.

However, that could change this summer if the Danish top-flight rises by one place in the Uefa co-efficent rankings or if Sulemana makes one more competitive appearance for Ghana.

With United not able to play the EU market easily from now on, it’s in their interests to sign players from the other markets now and drum up some interest

Edited that before you replied - point still stands. He gets zero points making odd appearances for Ghana. Has to have appeared in 30% of internationals. If Denmark improve to Band 4 he gets 16 points I think. Is that going to happen? The document also makes zero reference of coefficients - they plainly state what nation leagues are in each band.

Theoretically, could we not sign him but loan him straight out for a season, or even six months? With the ACoN in January, if he features for Ghana and satisfies the requirements for a work permit, we could apply for one in January?

Fair point, seems we would immediately loan him then?

We could loan him to a Europa league club in band 3/4 but in fairness why wouldn’t he just join Ajax? Seems likely it’s agent nonsense - but maybe we now know Denmark is being increased and that’s why we’ve swooped - I mean Scotland is band 3 ffs - it needs reviewing

Yeah I get the feeling it's agent nonsense, although it would be funny if we did gizump Ajax. Scotland being band 3 is ridiculous really, I guess it's the weight of the names Celtic and Rangers bring that are propping it up. On the face of it, band 4 would be reasonable for both Scotland and Denmark.

The Danish league has been upgraded to band 4 this summer, that is still only 12 points though and without European competition or international points it still isn't enough. So it'll have to be a loan if he is signed.

Yeah that will be the logical step for any club that wants to sign young players. IIRC, I read they will get required points within 6 months if you they play in other top leagues, so getting work permit shouldn't be difficult.

Now his attraction to us makes sense, because iirc he's more of a lw specialist and we are overstocked there.

City and Chelsea have made lots of money on decent players coming through the academy and sold for money, i really like the idea.

Time to generate more revenue by exploiting the quality of our academies and help fund the first team. I like it!.

It makes sense, football is a business after all.

He does look like a genuine talent though, maybe we feel he's too good to miss out on.

Lots of talk that Rashford needs surgery on his injury so imagine we'll be without him for a while. In that scenario we'd be left with the following left forward options:

- James
- Martial
- Sancho (assuming he signs)

If Martial was sold this Summer then we'd only be left with 2 options, one of whom was signed as a RW option. We'd be a little short on numbers. Getting this lad on a 15-20m euro deal would make sense.

Wow I’m sold, he at the bare minimum looks a great upgrade on James and if can be signed for under 30m why wouldn’t we want to sign this guy !

Sell James for 20m and replace with this guy, simples

Our scout in the region is on record as saying he’s the best young talent in Scandinavia. That’s where the links have come from. Nobody knows anything else beyond that apart from rumours online that Ajax are nervous others clubs are in for him.

How we are hijacking a transfer for a player we’ve known about for months does sound more than a bit sensationalist to be fair. We probably just have an offer on the table like anyone else. Work permit means he’ll probably have to go out on loan which means the safest option for him would be to head to Ajax for his next step and cut out the middle man (us).

I wouldn’t mind us paying decent money for him in a few years if he keeps developing. If he can transfer his form to Ajax he could become a big star. I’m quite surprised Dortmund (or the red bull clubs) aren't in for him to be honest. Dortmund took Emre Mor from the same club a few years back so its also a league that they keep an eye on.

We only have that 7 minutes clip. But hopefully the scouts see that the rest of his game is not so bad, before United decides to get him.

At 12m, this could be a really good deal. He's an explosive winger and we've lacked those who take it to the opposition. His style of play and acrobatics remind me of Nani.

what other markets can we sign from that are easier than the EU?
