Celtic...no doubt about it.

O'Neil wants to leave and it's only politics stopping him.

I've been told by mad eyed jocks before that Celtic are bigger than Man United.

Well...If Leeds are bigger then we are on another planet.

Celtic...Mickey mouse club.

Celtic have a bigger stadium,
Greater record in Europe,
Better economy,
Wider fan base,
Better team.

O'Neill is staying becuse he knows Celtic are a bloody good team. Unlucky not to qualify from the CL group stages after playing some great games. Hes adored by the fans and building something good up there. Why would he go to Leeds to risk his whole reputation and career while hes still so young?

O'Neil owns £2m of shares in Celtic and certainly the club is well supported but that is based mainly on religion.
They are £6m in debt and O'Neil has voiced concerns about finances....he has also not been signed up on a long term contract and it is only now when some other club looks interested in him that the board have acted.

With only one club to beat in Scotland I think it is the easy option for him to stay put.

Celtic: Bigger stadium? Yes.
Greater record in Europe? Yes...but not lately...so which counts? Leeds have qualified for Europe for the last 5 seasons. It's not CL next season but they have the potential to be there again.
Better team? Ha Ha. Leeds had 8 players at the World Cup plus 2 for the England U21 side during the off season. How many did Celtic have?

The Leeds team are young and have potential. I don't believe Rio will leave unless the board caves and sells and I can't see them doing that...Leeds are not that badly in debt.

The problem is the Leeds board don't know what they are doing....the team needs consistency and that starts with appointing a good manager!

Its not a religious thing, more of a cultural, political & historical thing.

Leeds are probably still better than Celtic. If they were in the SPL, they'd probably win it. That said, they still have a tremendous support base up there and it wouldn't make sense for O'Neil to move unless it was for Man Utd or another big european club abroad.

Of course Celtic are a bigger club than Leeds. That doesn't say they're better, although the 4-1 win in the testimonial at Elland Road certainly put the cat among the pigeons...

Yes... he was, in his words, 'gutted' when the West Ham board turned down an offer from Houllier the summer before he went to Leeds.

Celtic are one of the best supported clubs in the world. Like UTD they have fans everywhere, thanks mainly to the romance of their team (while the Babes died Celtic won the EC with players from within a 30mile radiius of the stadium)plus the fact that the Irish and Scots were big into emmigration and took their support with them wherever they settled. They are much bigger than Leeds, just compare their home gates. ;)
