This will be a lot tougher than yesterday, and the promoted teams always love to put up a fight against us at home. The QPR result won't mean much if we can't get a good run going so a win here is pretty vital. Our attack should be too much for them and if we get infront then we will win it comfortably, but if we go behind I can see us struggling to claw it back. 1-3.

Shaw obviously comes in, Rojo to CB, and it's Blackett/Evans for the bench. Evans is the major issue for me. I don't trust the fecker and never have done. Looks rock solid one minute then all hell breaks loose. Blackett looks the future and I really like him but is he not quite there yet? Decisions. I suspect with LVG saying Blackett has been "lucky" that infers he'll be on the bench sooner rather than later.

RVP dropped for Falcao seems obvious if the new man is ready for his first start.

I'm very confident of a win here. Leicester will be crapping it after watching the Di Maria show v QPR. 2-0 to us.

Hi all, Leicester fan in peace. Hope you don't mind me posting.

First of all let me say how great it feels to be back in the Prem playing against the best teams in England. We have started well above our expectations and have upset a couple of big sides in Arsenal and Everton. We at least matched Chelsea for an hour until their quality shone through. Confidence is high and the mood around the club is very positive.

Very impressive performance from you boys yesterday despite QPR being appealing. Di Maria, Mata and Blind all stood out for me. We won't be anywhere near as bad as QPR but it's still gonna be one hell of a task to stop your attacking players. I feel we can cause you a few problems ourselves, especially if we play with Vardy and Ulloa. Should be an interesting game that will either see us narrowly lose or snatch a point. Not completely beyond the realms of possibility that we could nick a win but I think it's a huge task.

If you're looking for an away fan friendly pub then try the Counting House located not too far from the ground. Good atmosphere and can have a decent sing song.

All the best (apart from sunday) ;)

    Nice text

Nice input! It sure wont be as easy as QPR

Personally i feel that Ulloa is up there with the best starters of the players of BPL..insanely good buy for 8 mill! latest goal was very impressive aswell, i hope he stays with you!

I still think we will win but i would not be surprised if Ulloa puts one or two behind DDG!

i'd be happy with the same line up but can understand some tweaks to the back line if he wants to play shaw
it will be a tougher game and we'll probably concede but that firepower of ours will see us home i reckon
4-2 Rooney, Mata, RVP, Falcao (just typing those names makes me  )

    ----------------de gea----------------
    rafa------evans--------rojo-----shaw
    -------------------blind--------------
    ---------herrera---------di maria----
    ------------------mata--------------
    ---------rvp------------rooney-------

tempted to start with falcao but maybe another 30minutes or so will be good for him, for a start.

could not wait for that shaw-di maria combo down the left hand side.

[RAWK]These are the weekends we can gain points on our rivals, as they've Champions League games and may be tired.[/RAWK]

Even though I put Falcao in my starting 11 I think he'll be on the bench again. I assume van Gaal will ease him in and van Persie will start again.

    De Gea
    Rafael Evans Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera Di Maria
    Mata
    Falcao Rooney

My ex used to run The Counting House.

We traditionally do well away at City and I'm hoping that carries on but wouldn't be surprised to see you upset us.

    De Gea
    Rafael--Evans--Blackett--Rojo
    Blind
    Herrera--Di Maria
    Mata
    Rooney--van Persie

I would go with the same team again with the same shape. Maybe drop Blackett and put Rojo at centre half and Shaw at left back. Or drop van Persie if Falcao is ready to start.

This will be a tough game Leicester are going to play on the counter attack and will be a much bigger threat than QPR. But I think the quality that we have should see us through this game. 2-1 to United.

I think this is a going to be a high scoring match with both sides

Cant we holiday till next match, this real life is bullshit. Bring on the weekend!

So refreshing to be counting the days until the next match again. Even though Leicester's a promoted team, they appear to be a definite step up from QPR, and it'll be a nice ramp-up in difficulty, which is exactly what the team needs.

Barring injuries, keep the same team but replace van Persie with Falcao: Robin's looked off the pace so far. Maybe a place for Shaw in defense, but I've never been a fan of chopping and changing the back line-relationships and understanding in defense are built through consistent pairings.

I agree on replacing RvP with Falcao as long as he's ready for it. We didn't look to exciting with all 3 superstars up front so I'd prefer to only play 2 of them at a time.
About the back line though, I assume Rojo - Jones will be our strongest CB pairing, Shaw should be a starter on the left given his talent and pricetag.

    Fortress Old Trafford rebuilding continues.

Making too many changes would be needless so I hope LVG can resist.

I'd keep a back four against Leicester, but a back 5 shouldn't be met with huge groans.

Against tougher opponents a back 5 might prove very useful, so the doppy English lads need to practice that formation if the fans like it or not.

My thoughts exactly. RVP looks totally off the pace so far this year, he was a little better in the last match in terms of touch but I think we should be easing him in with his performances so far rather than Falcao. Falcao looked sharp coming on, were a couple of instances, especially the Januzaj one where he took up a good position in the box and with more composure and vision from those around him could definately have had 2 or 3 chances the time he was on the pitch, pretty much as many as Van Persie had the whole match. I cant wait to see DiMaria and Falcao linking up in terms of through balls and crosses which of coruse with the timing of substitutions we were unable to see against QPR

This game seems too far away! :(:D I wouldn't be sure of LvG making any changes apart from maybe Falcao in for RvP. I see everyone saying Blackett will b dropped and it may be the case, yet to me it seems a poor way to go about it as he's played well and done nothing to warrant dropping, to do so is not a way to give incentive to young players trying to break through.

I honestly doubt Mata will be dropped. RVP and Rooney aren't untouchable, at least not in van Gaal's eyes, and Mata is probably the most on-form out of the four at the moment.

Thanks for the opposition view, sometimes i wish we had fans from all of the clubs offering insight into there own teams.
There is a lot of united influence on your current team.
    • Drinkwater- i watched him in reserves at united and also some games under 18s , frankly rated him higher than cleverly. Was good tidy player, never really had the x factor nor like cleverly did it on a loan, hence was let go. It will be good to see him again, also scored good goal against liverpool reserves .
    • Matty james - Before he got injured, there were calls for him and magnus eikrem to be promoted to united team. He is a good passer of the ball and is overall a great midfielder. Really wanted him to make it here, was rated highly at a point too.
    • De laet- Never understood why we bought him, i guess e had some talent, scored a good goal in reserves.
    • Schlupp - Another bizzare transfer we almost made, It was really strange with him. How do you rate him?
    • Barmby - One of the very highly rated under 18's at united. But he could not really cut it at Reserve level, there was just too much competition. How is he doing? has he played yet?
    • Lawrence - Will be a good lower-midtable premier league player. I like him. Just has a poor injury record.
Powell wont play, but he is very lazy, could be a good footballer, but his attitude does not fill you with confidence.

I hope you can tell me more about how they have done at your club. Also what do you expect of the game? Do you think you can beat us? or do you expect the manager to be playing for a draw.

Drinkwater really has come on la lot and was the key midfielder in our promotion with Matty James doing the defensive role alongside him, doubt he'll be risked for this game though with 4 others fit but he has been superb the last 2 years.

Ritchie De Laet if a fine full back and had Sanchez in his pocket vs Arsenal, Di Maria won't do him for pace that's for sure.

Jeff seems to have found a home for us on the left wing where his pace and left foot are a real asset, his experience playing left back helps too as he knows what help Konchesky needs and will just drop in if overlapped

Barmby has only been an unused sub in our cup defeat so far so we haven't seen him or Lawrence and will obviously need to wait at least another week for Powell though he didn't impress me that much when we played Wigan last season

Wouldn't be surprised if we played the same 11 as today with RvP in for Falcao and Blackett in defence. Long term, put Jones in the above formation instead of Evans and that's our strongest 11 IMO. Anyways, think we'll get a run of wins going. Sucks that we'll have to wait a full week between games all season without european football though.
Would prefer to see Smalling starting and Evans as a sub. I suspect RVP will start again, he just needs games.

Drinkwater was our best player last year by quite a bit. Dictates all play, is a fantastic passer (I think I remember he had over a 1000 more than anybody else in the championship and a massively high percentage of them were completed) and scored some incredible goals (). As I think I said up in my other post, his coming on at half time with Cambiasso is what won us the Stoke match. Has his head firmly screwed on too and has the right attitude. Should be said also that he didn't start well for us in his first year and had the fans on his back at the beginning of the last one, so to step up as much as he did is incredible.

Matty James is great as well. A starter with Drinkwater when he's back from injury--won't be this week though, unless as a substitute. Can't remember him losing the ball once with us really. Not a player to do something spectacular, keeps it a bit more simple but does everything he does perfectly so Drinkwater tends to get all the praise.

De Laet started off this season shakily and to be honest always has a few matches every season where he just seems to have something else on his mind. Was better against Stoke though and he's great going forwards and linking up with Mahrez.

Schlupp is... Not really sure what to say about Schlupp. Most of the time looks competent despite lacking a bit technically, then he'll go onto do something surprisingly great one match (his run and cross to pick out Ulloa against Arsenal), and have an absolute mare the next match and decide to take on more than he usually would (Stoke). Has a lot of pace though which can work out well for us if he crosses it instead of attempting to shoot. Started as a striker, ended last season as a left back, started this one as a winger.

Don't really know anything about Barmby yet.

Lawrence is playing his first match against the Fulham U21s right now but we're losing.

Oh, and I don't expect us to win but I expect us to be competitive. Pearson isn't one to set us up to park the bus, especially at home. We didn't do it away at Chelsea and I'd say we just about matched them for the better part of 60 minutes.

Mad House the other day - loads of people buying cans in Morrisons and drinking outside. Leicester played well, worth a least the point and we couldn't have complained if they took all 3.

Yeah I've seen it kick off a few times on Freemens Common with the pub going into defcom 5 emergency lock down. Usually only derbies like Forest though.

I'd go with the same team

We need to get RvP rolling again

I'd rather we played Falcao, who looks raring to go, than wait on RVP to build up some stream. Let RVP come on and try and better him. That'll get him going even more than a start IMO.
