I know the 'first real test' is a caf joke but this run of games now really is make or break for him. If you went off our performances this season, we're going to drop a lot of points in the next PL games but whenever he seems close to the sack, we normally go on a little run. This could easily be 3-0 United or us getting completely outplayed.Ole's big test indeed,
Lose this with the upcoming scheadule ahead and i really do fear for him, hopefully, though we put on a convincing performance and build a bit of momentum however i am hoping for the best. and preparing for worst
We can't just keep playing with two holding midfielders. While I agree that will likely be the team, it needs to be one of Matic/Mctominay/Fred paired with Pogba/Donny on a more regular basis. If we can't make it work, get new coaches!Great to have Rashford back as we have certainly missed him but can’t see him starting. Varane out is a huge blow and I hope he ain’t out for too long.
Starting XI
De Gea
Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Bailly - Shaw
McTominay - Matic
Greenwood - Fernandes - Pogba
Ronaldo
Subs: Henderson, Dalot, Mengi, Telles, Van De Beek, Sancho, Lingard, Rashford, Martial
Score Prediction: Leicester City 1-2 Manchester United
I have a sneaky suspicion he will tbh , I also think Maguire will be back in the start 11 also , just a feeling thoughDoes Rashford start?
Definitely not!Does Rashford start?
I think his job is very safe at the minute. But over the next two months, that could very well change. I do fancy us to nick a win tomorrow, but I'm not really expecting a good performance, in all honesty.I know the 'first real test' is a caf joke but this run of games now really is make or break for him. Still more chance of getting minutes in midfield than DonnyHas Maguire even trained?
To be honest, it's as much down to City, Pool and Spurs as it is ourselves. They all have very nice runs for the next set of games, if we do as you say and get a load of draws (which was our issue last year and the year before) and they put together a string of wins (including over us) we could, no exaggeration, be realistically out of the title race by Dec and double digits behind 1st. If that is the case, I think the Glazers will act. Now we have a great squad, we'll always be judged in relation to how close we are to 1st place.I think his job is very safe at the minute. This next run of games has been hyped to high heavens! But I'm actually expecting it to be a bit anticlimactic. I expect it'll all be very meh and uninspiring, with most games being draws. We will probably win a-few, and have a-few defeats too. It likely won't be bad enough to put any huge pressure on him, but it likely won't be enough to inspire any real confidence.
Aye, we didn't capitalise on our piss easy start to the season, and now we need to be picking up points from the tougher games. I fancy us to be a fair few points off first, come December. But I honestly don't see the Board acting and binning Ole off, unless we have a really poor run ourselves. We aren't a proactive club in the slightest unfortunately. My fear is another season of false dawns, mixed with generally average displays, which won't lead to any trophies and we'll settle for top four. I really hope I'm wrong, but I just feel it's all going to be very underwhelming. To be honest, it's as much down to City, Pool and Spurs as it is ourselves. That said, we could also win all 5 in a row and suddenly everyone is loving life. My fear though, like you, is draws.
Personally I think we'll get 7/15 points next 5.
We lost it on pens, saying it's not a ringing endorsement because we lost on pens is like saying it was brilliant had we won on pens. It's not black and whiteHardly a ringing endorsement for them two given we ultimately lost the tie though. I just can't see McTominay ever being our deepest CM as he doesn't show for the ball. It's a shame we seem to be set with our current formation too given there's clear issues.
You can go back and check if you'd like. Lots of mysterious niggles and illnesses after either Raiola / Pogba whined to the press about transfers.Juve comments....FFS
Would make an interesting game at leastDe gea
A.w.b lindelof Bailly Shaw
Mctom
Bruno pogba
Rashford Ronaldo sancho.
Last season there was a condensed fixture list with a mid-week league game almost every week that there was no cup game. Those tended to be at 8pm UK time hence your recollection. Why are all our matches this season played so early ? I swear we were playing more at night last seasons.
In the 8 games we've played Leicester with Bailly at the back we've won 6, drew 1 and lost 1. He's always put a good show on against Vardy as pace is his strength.I worry that Bailly could get sent off. He can be a little reckless at times and he’ll be trying to impress Ole no doubt. Leceister always seem to find a way to embarrass us.
Exactly this, no excuses.Unlike Liverpool who lost all their defenders and had to play midfielders at CB, we actually have two CBs who cost £65m+ and are on substantial wages. If they can’t fill in when needed, in the position they were bought to play in, then I’m not sure what they’re doing at the club.
I think this will be the team with maybe Mctom instead of VDB.DDG
AWB Lindelof Bailly Shaw
VdB Matic
Greenwood Bruno Pogba
Ronaldo
Though i'd like to see Sancho start as well. Maybe Ole will play him on the left, with Pogba instead of VdB.
Not optimistic about this one at all.
Sancho on the right please.DDG
AWB Bailly Lindelof Shaw
Matic Pogba
Bruno
Greenwood Ronaldo Sancho
Paul Scholes said on that Overlap thing on skybet's YouTube channel, that's his preferred midfield partnership.McTominay and Pogba CM?! That definitely is not a pair that should ever feature together again.
McTominay can't hold. Pogba can only be in a 2 with Matic or Fred (at a push).
You'd drop Greenwood?Sancho on the right please.
