Delap and another, not Delap and Hojlund.
Crazy wages will be looked for. Not a chanceI think we need an Osimhen personally. A player that can get on the end of balls.
My issue is we're going to play against low block literally all season, and we need two top wingbacks that can cross, a LF and a RF that are technical dribblers (Amad is the benchmark) Garnacho I think should be sold.
We need basically 2 Amads at LF and RF and wingbacks, plus a target man that outperforms xG and needs a chance a game
Unfortunately we don’t have the funds for 2 strikersDelap and another, not Delap and Hojlund.
Yeah sadly spot onUnfortunately we don’t have the funds for 2 strikers
Then sell Hojlund and sign David on a freeUnfortunately we don’t have the funds for 2 strikers
Pretty certain David will go to Napoli, mind you I thought Wirtz would go to Bayern so who knowsThen sell Hojlund and sign David on a free
Simply because he is better than any striker that we or Chelsea have at the moment. Why is he good enough to start for united? There is zero evidence he is good enough. One season with 12 goals in the PL is not a ticket to be a starter at a huge club like united no.

Based on the media reporting, it sounds like this is almost done. I have no objection or reservation with Delap particularly at this price.
Ideally though, I wanted a Gyokeres just given the pressure and importance of this position for us at the moment.

That is all Shearer said,
What is so hard to understand about what Shearer said?
Well who is going to start then given our financial restraints??There is no evidence he is better than what we or Chelsea have. If you remove his penalties he has a similar first season to Hojlund's first season, with a big difference is that Hojlund was playing under the huge pressure of a big club. Neither him nor Hojlund should start for us next season.
I think win or lose the final - him and Cunha are coming.
If we can move Rashford, Antony and Sancho on for a similar (ish) amount that it costs to bring those two in - then that is a very good start to the window.
Playing for Ipswich does not equal being good enough for Manchester United. Not sure why the links to United have proped up. Not convinced about his technical ability and United should steer clear.Really keen on this signing, I've seen him play really well quite a few times this season for a pretty poor Ipswich team. If he can get us 10 league goals in his first season with the other forwards chipping on 10 or so each I think we will be on the right track. Need to take small steps and I think he will improve us.
Roy Keane ring a bell?? Just because you are in a poor team doesn't mean you are a poor player. There are so many other examples out there as well, how else are players supposed to be noticed and go up the leagues if they don't play for smaller clubs?Playing for Ipswich does not equal being good enough for Manchester United. What's our Plan B out of interest?

I'm excited by this, even if there are obvious question marks over him, so it would make sense if we miss out and he went to Chelsea![]()
Agreed, I think people are really underestimating how important a season in the championship and then premiership is in a player's development in England. It makes a massive difference to getting into the physicality if the game in this country and understanding what it takes to succeed here.I'd be gutted if he chose Chelsea over us.
I'm baffled by the amount of people that think he's not good enough for us, yet don't seem to realise that we can't afford the sorts of players they want us to go for!
Would love to know clubs reasoning for not buying a cheap more experienced striker for him to learn fromBased on the media reporting, it sounds like this is almost done. I have no objection or reservation with Delap particularly at this price.

its gonna be eden hazard siutation where he decided for chelsea over Utd when chelsea win the CL that season.I'd be gutted if he chose Chelsea over us.

jornalists being briefed by the club or people in around the club or delap. Its been stated by a number of outlets that he is our no1 target fof CF this summer. Jason Wilcox, Amorim and whoever else is involved in our summer transfer targets obviously think hes good enough.Playing for Ipswich does not equal being good enough for Manchester United. Who are these cheap, experienced strikers we should be looking at?Would love to know clubs reasoning for not buying a cheap more experienced striker for him to learn from
That's what Wilcox and Vivell should know instead of putting all the eggs in this basket which is stupidWho are these cheap, experienced strikers we should be looking at?
‘I’m signing for the winners of the conference league’its gonna be eden hazard siutation where he decided for chelsea over Utd when chelsea win the CL that season.
‘I’m signing for the winners of the conference league’
Doesn’t have quite the same ring to it
What are you talking about, most people in this thread aren't bigging him up at all. More of a case we think it's unfair that someone so young should have to shoulder that much responsibility for goals. He is still very unproven at the top level and that's very concerning.Find this thread so surreal. You'd think this were a young Rooney or Benzema from some of the posts.
Also the "race" to sign him. Like it were a superstar Hazard choosing his big club destination.
Will be an interesting thread to look back on in a year or two. Perhaps this is the next great striker.
Manchester United being in the predicament where there's a chance we have to find out potentially the hard way makes me sad.
Which United side? Because this one was in a relegation battle.Playing for Ipswich does not equal being good enough for Manchester United. Not sure why the links to United have proped up. Not convinced about his technical ability and United should steer clear.
Seeing those two going elsewhere is very gutting, however like you say that's where we are right nowNo it doesnt. My point was Hazard was swayed by Chelsea winning CL, hopefully Delap will be swayed by us winning Europa League.
Its mad, but its where we are as a club, the likes of osiheim / gyokores are just too expensive for the amount of surgery we need this summer.

Yeah and only drew with that Ipswich as wellWhich United side? Because this one was in a relegation battle.
I could take us signing Delap if it meant we also got a midfielder, right wing back, goalkeeper etc.No it doesnt. My point was Hazard was swayed by Chelsea winning CL, hopefully Delap will be swayed by us winning Europa League.

Well if you believe Ornstein article then he said any other signings outside those two is dependent on salesI could take us signing Delap if it meant we also got a midfielder, right wing back, goalkeeper etc.
I’ll be pissed off if we spunk our entire budget on Cunha, Delap, then have to make sales to sign anyone else. A goalscorer should be the number one target.
