Surely Everton or City..? :nervous:
Everton are fecking useless against Liverpool every time.

If they manage to get past City, they're not losing this season then. Arsenal can kiss a goodbye to their biggest achievements.

Other club match the record 17 years later does not take away the achievement. Kudo to Liverpool if finish the season unbeaten and with record breaking points.

They'll beat the record but not remain unbeaten for the season. But after winning the league they'll drop a clanger.

While an impressive and consistent machine, I don’t want them to do it because that Arsenal team were so much better to watch. I know they drew quite a few games and all records are broken, but I just feel they were genuinely better at football than the teams they played.

This pool team, while impressive, feel like they out work and out grind teams at times. They have their brilliant qualities and moments, but they just don’t have the style that the Arsenal team did.

I genuinely find them quite boring to watch, not that the Anfield crowd would let you know that when they all start clapping when TAA makes a successful throw in to the goalkeeper.

How many actually memorable performances or games have Liverpool had this season in the league? The one tonight sounds like it might have been one of the best but I didn't watch it.

Yeah the 02-04 Arsenal team were a level above in terms of playing style. One of my favourite PL teams, though they underachieve in the end.

They will go the whole season unbeaten. Just a machine this season. Doesn't matter if they play well or not

I hope they have this belief that they don't need to bother, I think it's getting to a point where teams are beaten before they even face Liverpool because they seem unbeatable. Best thing to hope for is complacency.

Scarcely believable what they’re doing.

I know they say football goes in cycles, but this is brutal. City and Liverpool having record-breaking seasons whilst United edge closer to a decade without a title.

I gave City their due. And I’ll do the same for Liverpool. But damn, we need to get ourselves back in the game.

If those Everton cnuts have any semblance of a backbone, they’ll put in a performance this time against the Vermin.
Especially after they got embarrassed by losing to Liverpool reserves in the Cup and being laughed at by all.

Might be wrong but I’m sure Liverpool can mathematically win the title at Goodison as things currently stand? Seeing your rival officially win the league after 30 years on your own patch. That in itself should be a motivation for Everton to get a result in order to avoid the ultimate humiliation.

Think City will beat them when it comes around. Possibly Arsenal too for the only reason they will be well up for it If the unbeaten season is still on for them

Found out against Atletico at Anfield though when they play a half decent side ;)

It doesn't take away from it but continuing to refer to Arsenal's Invincible's becomes a somewhat token nickname when another club has done the same and done it much better

Im at the point that I really do not care anymore if they break the record or not. I am starting to find it amusing that my Arsenal loving friends have started to squirm a bit

That gives me hope of a strong Everton performance, especially since they're in a rich vein of form (ish) right now.

I'm surprised it hasn't worked out so that Liverpool have the chance to confirm themselves as champions against us.

That seems to have happened a fair bit recently

I've had a feeling that Palace are going to do them for a few weeks now. Everyone will be focusing on the City game but Palace will rock up and pull the curtain down while they're setting up for the main event.

Ty from Arse fam tv is going to go mental if they do. There's the only silver lining is seeing the meltdown from Arsenal fans.

Liverpool's form is way better than the Arsenal run, as good as that was. They're steamrolling an entire league and not dropping points. Arsenal drew 13 games.

So we're gonna talk about this:

1. Joint consecutive win record: 18 games
2. Joint consecutive home wins: 21 games
3. Equalled number of points Utd won the league in 1998/99 season: 79 (though we know the PL was phenomenally strong back then with erm Leeds, West Ham and Villa finishing top 6)

If they keep on going like this, they can confirm title against palace

My guts tell me they won't go unbeaten, but my word...what a machine Klopp has built there. Lost one game last season, probably same again if not better this term. That's mental! Phenomenal stuff. Just hurts so much that it's them and it's happening when we're down. Those full backs are reinventing the game. I'm pretty certain nothing like it has ever been seen before.

How about Liverpool beating your record and going unbeaten till the end of the season?
So what? I don't go around banging on about Invincibles. It was nice at the time and will always stand. Liverpool will just have done it too.

I have literally no idea what a half and half North London fan means....
You're a Spurs fan who has a soft spot for your neighbours. So you quietly support them too. Thought that was clear. On account of you rather Arsenal keep the invincible tag (something I'm sure not all Spurs fans would want under any circumstances short of an apocalypse) than have Liverpool take it off them.

I don't have a soft spot for Arsenal at all.

It's more that, exactly as Grinner has pointed out above, I don't know a single Arsenal fan who still talks about the invincibles in any way, shape or form. It's essentially irrelevant.

Whereas I know a whole range of cringey Liverpool fans (and unforunately consume British sports media which is enamoured with everything Liverpool does currently) who haven't stopped talking about achievements from 20 years ago, have already started talking about how they're in the running for greatest team this league has ever seen and potentially greatest team ever.

What they (and I) don't need is an invincible season and an insurmountable points total to go along with the CL and PL. Regardless of what happens in the near future, they'd be dining on that for decades too I'm sure.

You'd also not be taking the record away from them because it would be the same record. They'd still be 'the invincibles', it's just... So would Liverpool.

What meltdown? I don't see it as anything to get upset about. Records get broken.
Honest question. If the record gets broken, what meaningful and desirable record would Arsenal have left?

Back in their glory years and now, they are better than we have ever been. Swallow it, lads.
