CL is gone, out with a whimper. Catastrophic results both nationally and in Europe this season. Pressure has been mounting on EtH, but say, a 4-0 loss on Sunday will surely be the final nail in the coffin.

I don't want him to go, but it seems inevitable.

I don't think as a club we have enough professional pride to be bothered by it. The fanbase seem to enjoy those batterings for the most part. It's why they egg the club on for more of them.

You think we will hold them to four?

We can't afford it

We already had FFP issues (scrimping for Reguilon and Amrabat on deadline day)

We've managed 1 win from 6 at £2.4m+ a win in the CL. At least another £5m down from what we would have expected.

Get him gone, I'd rather we offer it Ole until the end of the season. He loves the club enough to help out.

Injuries have probably saved ETH. Assuming Maguire and Shaw are out and no one else returns you can't really expect anything other than a loss.

If we get a thumping the media will be on him but think he will be given time. Glazers are terrified and just frozen in place until Jim joins the party.

Seems like until the Radcliffe thing is sorted he’s untouchable. If we lose comprehensively on Sunday and he stays, it would be an insult to the fans.

Will he do it for free? Considering the amount we had to pay to get rid of him in the first place?

Yeah we’re going to get smashed, I’m certain of that but sacking ETH isn’t going to fix this mess, few months or a year down the line maybe.

Win lose or draw on Sunday it shouldn't matter. There is zero reason ETH should continue in his job.

He is factually doing worse than the other managers we sacked.

He is breaking every record possible and it's not the good ones.

He has no future beyond this season but won’t get the sack anytime soon, we’re going to drop plenty of points in next few games but won’t make any difference to his short term future.

In normal circumstances, maybe.

But it seems unlikely any change will occur before the ownership situation is resolved, and for good reason.

The sad thing is if he does go, who are the viable options to replace him that would actually improve us?

Clearly the players will be extra motivated by this loss and will be able to focus all their energy on beating our arch Nemesis!!!!

....

Yeah those were the days.

More likely we end up with a "respectable" loss (like 2-0 when everyone is expecting 7-0) and the club and fans publicly back him as a result.

Should have been sacked weeks ago. Club cannot make decisions swiftly enough at times. This idea that every manager will suddenly turn into Sir Alex has damaged the club ever since he retired.

Then what? Give him a permanent deal? He’s at fault for some of this mess ETH is having to deal with. We really cant afford to bin off another manager before replacing the higher up and certain squad members.

He won't be managing Man Utd next season but zero chance he's going anywhere soon. Glazers aren't going to act before they're handing their mess over to Ratcliffe, and that appears to be going at snails pace.

Not a hope that's happening. 4 is the absolute minimum they're scoring.

Who would sack him?

That itself should change your mind. The interim CEO won’t. And the Glazers don’t even know a football season is happening

No, make it clear its just until the end of the season. We're still in a decent position for Europe in the league, ETH won't get it.

Ole might get the crowd behind him and raise us enough to snatch top four.

Ownership transition will keep him but hopefully if Ratcliffe has anything about himself he's made the decision before he enforces his position at the club.

It doesn't matter what the excuses are in management and even in life when you have accountability and responsibility you cannot hit below zero. That's exactly what Eth has allowed to happen the standards are diminished.

Like you said, they'll score as many as they want. So from their point of view, why not just take it easy and ensure he stays in the job a little longer?

We're not a serious club so we'll just carry on. The fans should be going ballistic but instead many want more and more. It's just like Ole all over again. Fortunately Ratcliffe should be in within the next couple of months and, if he's a serious as he says, then he'll put us out of our misery.

We will get spanked, and they aren’t even winning that convincingly at the moment. There is a pathetic level of fight from these players. It could be worse, but games like Chelsea have become as rare as they have ever been. Clearly ETH’s time is up but we can’t go through this cycle again.

He won't leave until Ratcliffe takes over. The current people in charge couldn't give a feck about on the pitch performance.

No one at the club to actually sack him, it's a club without any structure or direction at the moment.

He stays even if it's 7+

They're not threatened by us. Plus Klopp knows what their paying fans will want - and that'll be blood on Sunday. It's the difference between their fanbase and ours - they'll really want to rub it in while they have the advantage.
