Liverpool will win the league | NARRATOR: They did not, in fact, win the league.

No? They played a full team and were well beaten. They were just shite. End of the day it would only be 2 more games during the league if they go through.
In what world is that starting 11 their full team?

1 clean sheet in 14 games isn't good enough. Don't see us winning the league.

If Liverpool are to win the league from this point, it's going to be a game of which out of the three crumbles the least.

You're right - my bad - I only turned it on when they went 2-0 down so didn't realise Salah etc didn't start :D

You've only kept 9 in the league all season, by my count. Same as Everton.
Gone behind in 20 out of our 50 games in all competitions too. Would be interesting to see that compared to City and Arsenal.

There is still the angle of Klopp thinking he can start that team and getting trounced at home to enjoy!

I've just googled by team and your 9 clean sheets is actually the joint second highest, along with Everton, City and Newcastle, so I've done you a disservice there.

Arsenal have kept 14 though.

Defending really is dead as an art form isn't it?

31 games into the season and one team has hit double figures for clean sheets.

Van der Sar one had 14 in a row in a season where we had 24 in total.

Edit: just checked, and Hull had the fewest that year with 6.

There are currently 9 teams with fewer than 6 clean sheets. Sheffield United, Luton and Burnley haven't even managed 6 between them.

Does this work in their favour now though? Probably just play a weak team in the second leg and can concentrate on the league

Jamie Redknapp, moments after Liverpool lose 1-0 to Crystal Palace:

“It should have been 6-2, really.”

Their schedule over the next couple of weeks:

Atalanta (a)
3 days rest
Fulham (a)
2 days rest
Everton (a)
2 days rest
West Ham (a)

What a beautiful way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Crystanbul.

I’m getting slight United 11-12 vibes.

The Bilbao mauling x the awful April run with points dropped against Wigan Everton and City were tough to stomach, then finished off with the final day drama.

I just hope these are fully out of it by the final day.

They'll be in the fight for sixth with the rest of us next season.

Stick a fork in them, they are done :D
Come on Arsenal, don't hand it to City now that Pool are out.

Far from over.
Arsenal need to bear Villa and then play Chelsea.
City go away to Brighton whilst Liverpool play Fulham.
I'm hoping Arsenal manage to win it but I think it's between City and Liverpool still.

Was expecting this. Finally some good news after a pretty shitty weekend.

Their schedule over the next couple of weeks:

Atalanta (a) - loss on aggregate.
3 days rest
Fulham (a) - draw
2 days rest
Everton (a) - win
2 days rest
West Ham (a) - loss

The second paragraph was in response to comments that Liverpool will not drop any points in the run-in. I can see them dropping at least 3-5 points in the run-in.

I said at the end that it's just about whether City and Arsenal can capitalize. If Arsenal or City drop points at the weekend they would have to hope Liverpool screw up 2 out 7 games and go on to win every game themselves which doesn't seem likely, especially for Arsenal who play away to Spurs and Utd.

They've already hit the expected minimum of 5 points dropped.

Found it abit mad how people were expecting them to win all their remaining games. This was bound to happened, they create chances but they never look in control of games. This an average Liverpool team and always look like they could drop points at any game even against relegation battlers at home.

Its a two horse race now between City and Arsenal with City being favourites given their experience, squad depth and easier run in.

Out
They'll be at worst 3 points off 1st if Arsenal win with 6 to go.

But it is a huge unexpected defeat and allows Arsenal a defeat elsewhere with their goal difference.
And allows City a draw if needs be.
