Lukas Podolski.

In other news, I heard someone absolutely laying into Monreal from two rows behind me the other night and I just automatically assumed it was Pete. This happens a lot now.

Strikes me as a very useful squaddie.

I'd agree, a good squad player but we need more than that.

He always impresses me. Dynamic player that can burst into life and win a match with a moment of brilliance. He is powerful, seems like a hard worker, pretty versatile... I would be happy with him at United to be honest.

He certainly isn't dynamic, his problem is his work rate is appalling and generally is a lazy player. Has an absolute hammer of a left foot though and his finishing is world class, the rest of his game isn't up to scratch. I think previous coaches have complained about his lack of desire and I don't think he wants it enough. He does a lot of things off the pitch which has given him a loyal fan following but on the pitch far too often he has been terrible for us. In the dressing room he is suppose to be a good character so certainly not harming the squad.

He's bizarre. Must be up there with the top finishers in the country, but it's very difficult to find anything else in his game worthy of a team like Arsenal.

Kinda player Arsenal need to improve on, not good enough for them.
Yeah, he was a stop-gap buy: can't play Wengerball; can't play up front; doesn't work hard enough. Finishing good chances against weak opposition isn't enough.

I've given up laying into Monoman it just gets tedious to see him flop to the floor appealing for a freekick that's never going to be given as his winger waltzes away.

He did it again on Monday and he always looks so surprised. He's just so pitifully weak. He wouldn't be that bad if he just did some weights. We need Gibbs back for the final.

.

You always need more than that if he's more than a squaddie. Don't think you need more than what he gives from a squaddie though.

I'm surprised at the criticism in here. He's by no means a spectacular and integral player for Arsenal, but he is still a very clinical player who can be the difference in a number of games and also a superb crosser of the ball. Doesn't hold a candle to most of Arsenal's technical players, but still a player who offers something unique and that can be very important for a team. I'm not comparing them like-for-like as they have completely different play styles, but he is like Welbeck for us in that he will offer something no other player in your squad can and that can show when he doesn't play at times.

He looks like a fish out of water in a highly technical team like Arsenal or Germany.
