Costa Rica were boasting that they always practised pens before the Greece game. I have no doubt that's what they played for tonight. They also would have studied the normal Dutch keeper. I think LVG made the change to put doubt in the Costa Rica players minds more than anything.

Pen's are never a lottery. It's a stupid thing to say. It's a skill to put a pen right in the corner and there is a reason why some players don't take them. Also some keepers are clearly better at saving pens than others. I hate it when people say it is a lottery.
