Yup we make one whole extra foul per 90 minutes without the ball compared to United and Liverpool. Flat out thugs.

Kompany should have 2 yellow cards already. What are we playing Kompany vs Rashford?

Bit weird that people can't debate this in a proper context. It's not about X amount of fouls.

Everyone who watch City play should by now be fully aware that it's part of their strategy to concede fouls if they lose the ball and they've committed players high up the pitch. Hardly a fecking surprise that you see Arteta instruct the players to make fouls if there's a transition. They are fully aware of what they should do and that there's an extremely small risk of getting booked for it, as the foul is usually made early.

Which is the main issue, refs don't see it's a pattern behind it and they let it go.

We were happy to accept bookings to rough up Arsenal, made them wimp out of 50-50's, but the refs are usually very protective when individuals are being taken out.

They are dirty scumbags. Zinchenko has tried to injure Rashford twice now.

City's entire game plan is based on tactical fouls and Pep knows it, hence why Ole's comment got under his skin.

Without tactical fouls, they wouldn't be able to commit 10 men forward to press.

They get away with tactical fouls. I think it’s downs to poor refereeing letting them get away with it time after time. Fernandinho would be sent off every game if they put an end to it.

It infuriated me when Pep got angry at our players for Zinchenko's fouls. It's a derby so there will be some leeway at times, but Zinchenko made four tackles that were all Yellow Card worthy that half. You can't complain about getting one!

They are smart. A big part of winning football is to commit fouls in the right situations.

Two best tactical fouls in the game were by Shaw and Fred and neither got booked. Tonight we've done them more but you've done them better.

Solskjaer channeling his inner Fergie to influence the ref with his pre match comments

Proof they commit more fouls then any other side out of possession. Not to mention they release a bloody documentary with a scene instructing their players to do what Ole accused themof!

https://www.football365.com/news/dirty-city-solskjaer-was-right-to-call-man-city-on-tactical-fouls

Amazing how the City PR team get a lot of outlets to propagate their BS.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48028390

'Privately, City are bemused at United letting Solskjaer speak about the issue, mainly because the statistics do not back up the Norwegian's view. According to Opta, City have conceded 170 free-kicks, excluding offsides, in the opposition half so far this season. In contrast, United have conceded 195.'

Even David Silva has been at it tonight.
Disgusting and cowardly, on a youngster no less. This time the beard is on a white guy and in the same team as Raheem who talks about racism innit so just an honest accident, guv'nor.

But if it was Salahrorist.

No not dirty, just want to win and try harder. I’d love it if it we showed a 10th of their desire and if it resulted in a few fouls.

There was a point in the second half where Fred i think was trying to break away, so Bernardo had a wild swing at him, which Fred managed to evade, so Sterling just grabbed him and hauled him down.

Guess who got booked? Nobody

If it's deliberate foul, it's dirty.

I have written to the President of Premier League to punish every deliberate foul with a yellow card.

Haven't replied yet, but I'm expecting approval.

So... In other words, very similar to Shaw's attempts in the first half, or Fred's foul then, yeah? All should have been yellows of course, but the game had already 3 and normally in such derbies referees can be a bit reluctant.

David Silva of course was quite dirty in the game, and that's no news in big games, too.

Judging by the comments I read, City is dirty because they know how to use fouls to their advantage considering the current rules and referee practices.
It's much better the way we do it, clumsy and idiotic fouls that don't bring anything to the table.

Edit: that doesn't mean I agree with it. This strategy should be unviable because this kind of foul are yellow card offences. The only reason it's viable is the moronic referee standard of holding yellow cards until 80 minutes, then it becomes happy card season.
So the problem is with referees, not with the teams that can gain an edge by making strategical fouls.

I just love that Pep immediately got offended by Oles comment. Such precious snowflakes.
And quite right he was offended. Check the OFFICIAL STATS for this season. City have committed 291 fouls, the lowest in the premiership, Liverpool 303 - Man Utd 395,, with only Everton & Brighton higher. Precious, no, just factual

You are the most cynical side in the league. The fouls you commit are specifically to stop play so you can't be countered. It's a stain on the game that Pep has brought over from his time at Barca Will be interesting with VAR next season, as if used correctly you will rack up yellows & reds.

1 - You have no clue why Var is being brought in and what its doing obviously.
2 - United made as many cynical fouls as us today. Both Shaw and Fred could have been booked 2 or 3 times as on the other end could Zinchenko, Kompany, David Silva. No doubt we are cynical and were again today but you'd swear its something you guys didn't do. In fact every time you got dispossessed with men forward you did it today just like us. The major difference being it wasn't too often you had men forward to press.

All teams make tactical fouls. You have gone further though by making it an integral part of your game plan. This is something never before seen in the English game. It's not good for the game in the long run as many teams will take the view that if you can't beat them join them.

Sky had 1 hour post-match and didn’t even mention David Silva’s studs going into Pereira’s chest. Amazing. Just pretend it never happened.

Of course its not good but its a tactic that's been employed by every high pressing team for ages. Hell Spurs did it before Pep, as did Liverpool as soon as Klopp arrived. Not knocking them, we just do it better than most. United now you've started pressing have started doing it too in games. The reality is we made 10 fouls in the derby of which about 5 were cynical, you made 10 fouls too of which 3 or 4 were cynical, given positions on the pitch where the ball was it makes sense we'd be fouling higher up more often.

This is not a Pep thing or a City thing, its a high press thing.
The more United press forward and play modern football under Ole the more you'll do it too.
