That's what I thought after the previous game against the Arse in the charity shield. He looked good for a short time as far as I can remember.

Inspired by TomClare's recent posts, here are the highlights of two of Utd's games at the end of the 1956-57 season. It's fascinating to see some of the players Tom was taking about in action.

25th April 1957

Thanks for the old clips Steev123. They are greatly appreciated. Were teams not allowed to have substitutes in 57?
 
From Wikipedia:

Substitutions during English league matches were first permitted in the 1965-66 season. During the first two seasons after the law was introduced, each side was permitted only one substitution during a game. Moreover the substitute could only replace an injured player. From the 1967-68 season, this rule was relaxed to allow substitutions for tactical reasons.

So I guess they didn't have subs in '57. Shame O'Shea wasn't playing...

yeah, seems like NetResult has been taking down all the videos of games in the Premier League on Youtube and Dailymotion, it doesn't look good for future highlights at all:(
