Dropping Pogba and reinstating McFred is hilarious
Yes, I do not give a feck if we lose this game at this point, so long as the manager shows that there is at least some progress, that he is learning, that we are trying to build something, no matter how long he takes. What is McFred gonna do? Win us the game? Like that has worked out very well this season and the season before that. Why not try Cavani with Ronaldo? Why not try Donny in midfield? Change the formation a little bit, spice things u Why does he persist with the same thing over and over again when it has proven time and time again it simply won't work. What do you expect him to do then?
Change formation in a must-win UCL game?
Then he'll lose and you'd say that he should be sacked? At least now there's more defensive players than there is attackers.
Let's see how the game unfolds and watch the match and enjoy ourselves.
I guarantee you'd be here complaining if he dropped Ronaldo as well. Something in all honestly I think he should have. This game has Cavani written all over it.Right, so Ole's something has to give basically meant dropping Pogba and nothing more. No balls at all.
The reason is that we lost control of midfield against Leicester. Pogba and Matic both rightly dropped. Others were poor at the weekend, but our midfield was invisible.Other than disliking him no reason to drop him and not drop any of the other names who played at the weekend.....
Maguire at fault for nearly every goal.....
Shaw and Maguire aren’t in form so yes they should have been dropped too - what’s the point of having a squad (Telles and Bailly) if we aren’t going to use them when players are out of form? What and replace them with Bailly and Telles? Two vastly inferior players than Shaw/Maguire.
Next thing you'll do is agree with Fergie that you should "always play your best players"
Don't watch then. Go do something else.Typical same old, same old. Instead of trying for something new, be the same conservative scared of his own shadow coach you've always been. I just can't anymore with this manager. Fully resigned myself now. Don't care about winning or losing anymore, it doesn't exactly matter. This season is an absolute waste.
Yeah, he might live to regret those words and that selection."Something has to give"
4-2-3-1 with McFred.
It's a team devoid of any creativity and guile barring Fernandes ,our front three are all goal scores it's quite unbalanced and I don't think you can expect much from Mcfred in terms of creativity either .In fairness, it’s a decent lineup aside from McFred. Got pace, creativity and balance in there, just that the players providing the balance are not good enough. Ole did say something needs to give though, but I don’t actually know what gave. Pogba’s place?
I'd argue that even out of form, they're still better than Telles and Bailly.Shaw and Maguire aren’t in form so yes they should have been dropped too - what’s the point of having a squad (Telles and Bailly) if we aren’t going to use them when players are out of form?
Only play one of Mctominay/Fred, with VdB. Drop Bruno (or Pogba) deeper and play more like a midfield 3. Maguire shouldn't be playing either after Saturday. What do you expect him to do then?

Also calling this season "a waste" after it's barely begun is a bit dramatic.
It was a bit of a weird comment and hard to read what he actually meant but I thought he felt we’d been unlucky in recent weeks and at some point that luck would change and we’d get the rub of the green."Something has to give"
4-2-3-1 with McFred.
Of course it is. What else did anyone expect?"Something has to give"
4-2-3-1 with McFred.
Nah Matic was the best outfield player. Spouting nonsense thereThe reason is that we lost control of midfield against Leicester. Pogba and Matic both rightly dropped. Others were poor at the weekend, but our midfield was invisible.
Exactly this!Only play one of Mctominay/Fred, with VdB. Drop Bruno (or Pogba) deeper and play more like a midfield 3. Maguire shouldn't be playing either after Saturday.
Instead, back to the same old crap and his favourites playing no matter what.
Exactly. Or start Matic or Donny.I’d have dropped Bruno and gone 4-3-3 if we insist on playing Ronaldo but having dropped Pogba you’ve got to think the creativity of Sancho ahead of Mason would offer more balance. Still - let’s smash them!
The weekend showed why it isGuys, you have to realize that the duo McFred is pretty much undroppable under Ole, so it is always gonna be 4-2-3-1 with those two. I don't know why some you always seems surprised.
The whole team was terrible. The reason is that we lost control of midfield against Leicester. Pogba and Matic both rightly dropped. Others were poor at the weekend, but our midfield was invisible.
You could write that quote 40+ times when mentioning McFred though, at best we’ll get a mediocre performance they‘re the worst midfield pair regularly starting for United in 25 years. The reason is that we lost control of midfield against Leicester. Pogba and Matic both rightly dropped. Others were poor at the weekend, but our midfield was invisible.
Right. He should keep doing what he did at the weekend against Leicester, that should see him keep his job.Playing it safe with McFred is going to be the undoing of Ole.
Was hoping Cavani would get a runout as we look like a more fluent outfit with him leading the line. Less so with Ronnie.Of course it is. What else did anyone expect?
I think the problem with this is that we've won most the big game wins with McFred. I don't know why Redcafe never considers that?Dropping Pogba and reinstating McFred is hilarious
Failed utterly? Really? Compared with every other central midfield partnership we’ve tried they’ve been by far the best pairing. You can absolutely fault him for that. McFred has been tested time and time again and it has failed utterly. Now I don't think it is entirely McFred's fault, we're coached terribly, but they're not the greatest of players that's for sure. And we have Donny who has given us the 2 best matches from a midfielder this season rotting on the bench. Why? Because Ole doesn't have the ball to be adventurous on anything, he is just as negative as ol' Moyesy boy.
We lost against Villa at home with Scott and Fred starting so no it's hardly the solution regardless of what is gonna happen tonight.Right. He should keep doing what he did at the weekend against Leicester, that should see him keep his job.
At least we will defend. Our defense is absolutely atrocious. If you lean into the TV close enough, you can smell when the other team is about to score from a set piece on us... you sure as hell can feel it coming.Man, so depressing when your manager doesn't have the balls to go head head against Atalanta.
With McFred we will just defend and hope someone does a worldie.
Yeah, he has played in way too many matches this year?Rashford starting sigh. Why do they do this all the time.
