How old is Macheda?
turning 17 on friday I think it said. I'm with elliot, like the look of him. He didn't get any chances tonight but we've also seen he can finish. Comfortable dropping deep so can see why some people compare him to someone like a berbatov

Foster looked excellent, great command of his area, shotstopping, and one of his long kicks lead to the goal.
Gary Nev did OK apart from one moment he let a ball run thru to Foster without seeing a Chelsea player behind him. Foster only just managed to get to it first.
Fabio and Raphael were OK. Didn't get much change out of the 2 Chelsea fullbacks though (who both looked very good).
Drinkwater was classy in the middle, took the goal well.
Chester was impressive in defence, excellent tackling and positioning.
Gibson still looks a bit tubby but he played well enough. Made some good tackles but a few stray passes.
Eckersely played very well. Combatative tacking and got forward at every opportunity. Maybe his only problem is that he's not Brazilian ;)
Macheda worked hard but had to drop deep to get on the ball. He was living on scraps really with no decent through balls or crosses to work with.
Nice to see Matty James come at the end but too late to show anything.
Wasn't too impressed by Brandao or Stewart when they came on in the second half.

Nothing to add to that.

Agree with all that charleysurf has said, not a game with a lot of talking points but certainly a good work out for the Reserve side. We will be playing at Chelsea's home reserve ground next now as another preseason friendly.

Ruud ftw
It's at Chelsea's training ground, next Tuesday afternoon. Will be behind closed doors unfortunately.

Only seen a bit of this due to working late and my weekly Monday night 5-a-side but i was very impressed with Drinkwater. looked a very good player and took his goal very well.

Chelsea has some good players too mind, the no3 looked classy at the back

I thought Brandao, held the ball up quite well, looks fitter than last season.

Brandao is very talented but didn't do himself justice at all last season. It's alright to go through a rough patch like that if you repsond in the right manner. Is he still part of the Portuguese youth set-up?

Macheda looks like a great talent. He didn't get a chance to show it against Chelsea though. His finishing is superb and he is big and strong. He seems quick enough also. And he will only get stronger.
