Don't really see where our attacking threat will come from either. Rooney is easy to contain and if we move Martial there we'd be devoid of wing threat too.

I don't understand why Wilson isn't getting a game under LvG. I think he has a lot about him and his pace could hurt. Move Martial centre, Wilson on the wing and move Rooney into #10, hook Mata.

Its clear as day that he wants to criticize Rooney, but I guess he'd be ostracized by his peers so stops short of doing that.

The most likely way for us to get a goal in open play is from a Martial run.

Time for Captain Rooney to selflessly sacrifice himself to the thankless task of winger who has to track back and allow Martial a free ride off Wayne's hard work

Really solid performance in an incredibly tight first half of football. Both teams playing with three natural central midfielders, so there's not much space in the middle of the park, but I think our quality on the ball is allowing us to edge that battle. Might open up a bit in the second half, and Fernandinho is on a yellow, so he may be less inclined to get stuck in.

Martial has been sex. Best thing to happen to our club in years. His runs are so dangerous, so positive. He'll have more space to work with in the second half I'm sure. Rooney has also been quite good, possibly his best half of football this season, but I would like to see him shoot a little more. That moment where he was running at the defence and tried a reverse pass to Martial, I sort of wanted him to pull the trigger.

HOW GOOD IS OUR DEFENCE? We've been all over there attacking players! I honestly feel like a year or two ago we would be 2 or 3 down by now, given the incisiveness of Toure, Sterling and De Bruyne, but our defence has coped with everything thrown at them. Smalling and Jones have been great, and Rojo has been particularly impressive.

Valencia is making me crazy though. Wasteful every time he has the ball.

I honestly think this game only has one goal in it. Teams are very compact and disciplined, and I think either a moment of quality or a set piece has a big chance of winning this game, as we've been drawing a lot of fouls in the final third.

Many people have bemoaned Van Gaal's emphasis on discipline and control, but it's paying dividends here. In past derbies we've been all at sea. In this one, our organisation means our fate is in our own hands. It's a wonderful foundation to build upon.

I think the key point is that United needs speed on the wings and Martial can provide that. Mata, not really, but he has a superb control in his days so that's also causing problems to City.

So far it's fine, Rooney, Mata and Martial only needs to switch enough with Herrera to have chances to create offensive triangles and succeed in this last pass that did not work out so far. City is afraid of Martial, but Mata had a superb chance if Schweinsteiger get pass through City's defence.

If Martial was to be centre forward, then the bench doesn't have a player who's fast enough.
