We're playing well, i didn't feel we were under pressure at anytime, valencia and rojo and doing a great job on sterling and kdb.

Attacking wise we aren't threatening at all, valencia makes great runs but always a poor cross at the end, rooney has made the wrong decision every time he had the ball, mata and herrera are still not in it yet, i really feel that martial would be much better upfront running behind the defenders.

Shite performance from both teams, the game is seriously lacking quality.

Martial is by the way defending well, isn't he? He comes back to help Rojo against KdB again and again.

He has, but Bony has been useless, so what does that matter really
    Yep, agree.

I actually think that Rooney wasn't that bad today. His biggest problem though is the lack of technique. Every difficult ball he loses cause of his first touch.

Other than that, I think that he did bad in that Martial pass and then that Hollywoodian pass to no-one near the end.

City are clearly the more dangerous side. At home, in a derby, and we don't have a single shot on target. Only Martial has the willingness and ability to take his man on. The rest of our side looks to pass it sideways and backwards. We might have good possession numbers but we don't look the more likely to score. Mata and Herrera find good positions but when they get the ball they only look for a pass and never to drive the ball forward. It just isn't working. We might be a side that is difficult to beat, but we sure aren't an attacking minded side.
This is the brutal keen truth. You strip away the club propaganda and go for the red jugular. And yet you made no mention of Sterling. Why? Is it because you fear his pipe activities?

Martial does need to be central, we have no focal point for sticking it through the middle on the ground since Rooney can't shake his man and gain a yard.

We've been pretty decent at everything except actually attacking. Shame considering how poor City've been.

Schmeichel on Rooney: "Wayne plays everywhere. He is not a no.9. Martial should play there". Shows Wayne's touch map, and says: "that's why its nil-nil"

Its clear as day that he wants to criticize Rooney, but I guess he'd be ostracized by his peers so stops short of doing that.

Cagey game. Both teams have defended very well for the most part, apart from Kolarov, who is a total bombscare.

Fernandinho and Schneiderlin have been the two standout players so far, and Rojo has been good too.

I think Neville called it right; it'll be a set piece or a mistake that wins this. Both teams look too afraid to lose for either team create a major opening.

We could try taking some shots from distance to test the keeper at least. A few time we had chances to do that, but the players never took a chance.

Stick Martial upfront, Memphis on the left and Rooney on the bench. Will never happen because the captain shall always play even when he's AGAIN the shittest player on the pitch.

Crap match so far. Has there even been a shot on target ? Lots of passion and little else. Best period was the last 3 mins of the half !

I am sorry but i don't like Rooney. He is too short for a proper target man, he is too slow for a poacher, he is too inaccurate and slow in his passing to be anything else. He doesn't beat his man, he doesn't win headers. What the feck does he offer these days?

real 50/50 game, city had the biggest chance with d bruyne low pass to Yaya, their two key tacklers have yellow, Kompany and Fernandinho and we have usually better second half.. expected more from Mata, Herrera should try to play a bit deeper as he's not getting on the ball that much. Jones had some nervy moments again. Good starts for Valencia and Schneiderlin. I think we should try to do what's our advantage, controlling the tempo of the game, sometimes we lose the ball too easily but t's a bit hard against such good defending team like City with Fernando and Fernandinho hving good games while Yaya is also good presence in midfield, maybe time for Fellaini for Bastien who waas a bit overrun in that midfield, too high tempo for him, shame we dont have anyone up front to be released Rooney's put in a fight, wht else you can say about his performances these days, at least he tries this game.. WOuldn!t be personally surpsrised with Lingard on for Mata..

Taking the next corner instead of Jones!
Well you accused me of being biased by hatred for Rooney.

So yeah you are deluded. You're a fecking idiot

Theres nothing wrong with a difference of opinion.
:lol: So glad I called it with the white text! You Rooney haters really are predictable hotheads sometimes and easy targets too. Take it pal and tone it down a bit … it's just banter you know!

Why is everyone saying its been crap. Enjoyable game so far, just lacking the final bit of quality, from both sides.

"Toure sweeps the ball to the right to De Bruyne. The Belgian picks out Torre in the box but he mistimes his shot and it flies well wide. Let off."

    Is the updater drunk?

No attempts on goal, no real threat either. Not playing badly but City are missing their two top players and still look more threatening.

Don't really see where our attacking threat will come from either. Rooney is easy to contain and if we move Martial there we'd be devoid of wing threat too.

Agreed on all counts. But we are playing well, and one clear chance may be all that we need. Schneiderlin is having a very good game so far.

Which breaks down many of our attacks. Its a big problem

Is valencia stupid? Two identical free kicks about 10 mins apart in their corner with the defender facing his own goal. Don't touch him mar him put it out for a throw.

Stupid play like that really annoys me and utd do it a lot.

I thought we played pretty well Valencia and Rojo has kept Sterling and De Bruyne quiet and Schneiderlin is showing yet again that he is our best midfielder. Biggest negative has like in most matches been our attacking play.

    'Thud and blunder'
    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

    Mark Lawrenson

BBC Radio 5 live at Old Trafford

"This game is the worst one I've been to so far this season. With the quality in both teams I've never seen so many misplaced passes. It's been thud and blunder rather than blood and thunder. Good look whoever is putting the highlights together for Match of the Day!"
What? I think it's been a great game so far.

Maybe it's because of our generally poor recent Derby record but I didn't mind that.

It was dull but we didn't play badly and we're still in the game.

One goal looks like it might be enough.

I love the intensity. The reason there are so few chances is because both sides run their balls off.

Martial still our best outfield player. I also think Rooney has been decent.

I thought the whole team played decent. We just didn't make the right choices in the final third. City was clearly set to contain us. I can't see any reason they can be said to played better than us

The problem with this team is even when we're playing ok - like we are today - we struggle to create chances. This surely can't be the intended goal of the philosophy but it has become our defining feature.

That sounds very much like a criticism of Rooney, and not "stopping short of it".
