The problem is the precedent we've set. Shaw is reportedly now on 130K or higher, Lukaku on 200K or higher, Alexis on 300K or higher and Jesse earning somewhere between 130-150K according to reports.
Some of these figures are false. Jess is on something around 100k.

If a main striker for a top 4 side isn't worth 150k per week then sell him. Naive to accept transfer fees sky rocketing over past few years and the except wages staying on the same level as 10 years ago. I know it's hard to have nothing to moan about but let's try and keep it together.

And to think i was all up in arms when Keane was bargaining for 60k/wk. Its all monopoly money now.

The club ought to pay these Millenial kids in bitcoins.
It was 50k. Such a famously quoted figure im amazed it's not etched in the mind of anyone at the time

Yeah, Sky just made sensational headlines. Ducker reported his wage is around 75K and including all the bonues it will reach 100K, no one knows what those bonuses are.

The England forward has agreed a deal that will tie him to Old Trafford until June 2021, although there is the option of a further year. It is thought his salary will increase to around £75,000 a week.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...rikh-mkhitaryan-says-still-adjusting-english/

Sky made it 100K and within a year we see he is on 130K. Give it 6 more months, he will be highest paid player in the league.

Good thing.

De Gea, Pogba and Herrera next. Need to keep the strong core and add to it

For a player that has the potential to be one of the best in the world, 150k seems fair at this time tbh

What has he done to warrant 150 grand a week? I don't think even Harry kane is earning that much. Marcus has had a decent few weeks but that's about it.

That Sanchez deal is killing us.
2007 called, they want their valuations back.

No worries. With us tripling Rashford, Martial, and maybe DDG and Herrera soon, will be back to the top (of highest wages in the world).
Rest of the world won't stop giving contracts to new players or existing players.

Yeh. So...?
So we won't be top. Barca have added shit loads of players, Madrid will sign lot of players this summer.

In any case, your initial list is just wrong, Sillyseason, Sportskeeda are crap sources who don't even know the difference between gross and net wages.

2nd post in this thread.
Kudos to you.
We should offer him peanuts I guess and pray he won't go elsewhere.

He deserves every bit of the money he's getting(with respect too football wages around the world)

Our first choice striker and he should be the poster boy of United in the mould of Giggs, Scholes etc once were.

Just a bit of perspective also.

Those are more or less the reported net salaries after tax, though I'm a bit dubious about the exchange rate used in the article as well. The cost to Real Madrid is roughly double that.

UK football pay on the other hand is reported in the press pre-tax. That £150k figure would put him on Kovacic money, and significantly less than Asensio for example. We'll be very lucky to get him for that - especially if there are no increments or release clauses in the contract.

Hopefully we'll get a deal that suits him and us sorted quickly and quietly. I'm sure we will, transfer fees make no economic sense, and Woodward knows economics.

I think the news at the time was Lingard would earn 75k a week with the new contract and that would rise to 100k if we got Champions League football the next season (which we did).

With players like Lingard and Rashford there isn't the additional cost of a transfer fee so it shouldn't matter if we pay them slightly over the odds. Most top players are on exorbitant wages now so as long as they're playing well, I really don't care if they earn a few thousand more than they might elsewhere.

We can recoup so much money from this squad from players who aren't good enough or not doing it for us. Fellaini just gone so that's circa 140,000 a week saved.

Valencia, Rojo, Jones, Sanchez, Lukaku and potentially Fred ( if Ole doesn't rate him ) on the chopping block.

Manchester United need to get him on a very long contract if its £150k a week. I think he's worth it for how good he is and how good he's going to become. Get him tied down to a very long contract. Sort the wages out by getting rid of deadwood like Fellaini, how much was he on? And Sanchez wage is a joke, highest paid in the premier league and he's massively on the decline. Sanchez, Lukaku, Darmian, Valencia, Rojo, Jones, Smalling, Young, Mata imagine the wages saved by selling that lot who for me we can't trust. Obviously recruitment will be needed but we will be paying players of better quality and who we can trust outside our starting 11. Get De Gea and Rashford contracts sorted.

You can’t compare Spurs’ wage structure to United’s. 150k for a player like Rashford isn’t very sensational.

I think loads of these salary figures banded about are way off the mark. How do punters or journalists know what a player is paid ? Sanchez, for example, will not be on 400k a wek. Not a chance. My guess is he will be on something around 275k. Sanchez deserves to be on more than Rashford at the minute quite simply because he's performed at a consistently high level for 10 years or so. Forget how he's performed to date at United but with Sanchez you were buying the real deal. Rashford is all about what he can become and if he continues on his upward curve he will - in relative terms - blew Sanchez's wage away.

He’s absolutely fantastic for the clubs social media campaigns.
He plays for United so he’s always going to get paid more. So who cares what Kane gets paid, if he joins United he’s getting double Rashford’s wages, silly comparisons.
Lads had far more than a few weeks of decent performances, yet another silly statement...

Kevin McDonald at Fulham is on 50K per week. 150k all in for Rashford is more than fair. Footballers get paid a lot of money, simple as that.

This is the Sanchez effect then.

We should be paying him like he's still got something to prove, not like he's already made it. It's not like he's going to leave us if we don't break the bank for this contract.

100K + 50K in bonuses is actually reasonable (for once) when it comes to United and salaries. Hope he signs a new contract.

As long as we have a healthy wages/revenue ration (which we do have), who cares about these figures? Rashford is one of our 3 star players together with Pogba and De Gea anyway.

Don't even care how much we pay him, I honestly don't understand why so many supporters are interested in the financial outlay of the club. We're not in any danger, we have owners who apparently are in it for the money and fans still moan when they spend too much. They can't win.

The shirt means more to Rashford, Lingard too, than anyone else at the club. I don't begrudge them earning what they do when we have other mercenaries that don'd give a shit.

Yeah. Pogba, Rashford, DeGea, Martial are the future of this club. Good chance Rashford will be the face of this team considering he graduated from academy and local lad.

150k with bonuses is probably 120-130k which is fine given inflation.

Ashley Young was on like 110k 8 years ago.

Our Salaries aren't actually that bad ( https://sillyseason.com/salary/manchester-united-players-salaries-list-69041/ ). If we hopefully offload Lukaku and Sanchez then our only players on high wages are Fred (150k joke), Pogba (£290k - best cm in the world), De Gea (£200k best GK in the world).

All our players outside of Fred, Lukaku and Sanchez are paid accordingly.

EDIT: I dunno what material is on, but he's one of the best young talents in the world so probably deserves it.

Englands hottest striking prospect, one of our own and an all round great player and you want to short change him? Anyone would think this is coming out of your pocket.

Why not?, Sanchez and Lukaku earn ridiculously more and they do considerably less. Plus, with Rashford, we have, potentially, a worldie as a striker. I think the monies paid are insanely disgusting but that said, 150k pw for one of the most promising talents in English football is to be expected in todays market.
