Sell him, get Antony and let’s get this thing rolling. Really really hope we don’t give him a new contract. We already have elanga and he provides the same thing that rashford has for a fraction of his wage. And wouldn’t mind being a sub for quite some time.
Sell him to who? The PSG story is nonsense. He's not going anywhere.

Hopefully that today will give him some confidence now to go and bang another at St Mary's this week.

Martial the same. Been awful for nearly two years but came on and made a real difference.

He needs a big season, we know he can do it, he's very much a confidence player and prone to a sulk. If Ten Hag can't get the best out of him this season then he has to go in the summer, however if he keeps playing like he did against Liverpool and better then there's no reason to move him on.

No way he goes, we need him as well as Anthony. If anyone is going, it’s Ronaldo, along with anyone else who doesn’t want to be here.

Quite frankly, you have to be a fecking idiot to think that was a good performance. The consensus in match day chat was to hook him at half time.

He was even offside for the goal despite clear view of the last man -
He needs to go and we need to sell him in January.
He clearly wasn't or the goal wouldn't have stood, stop spouting bullshit.

Some people really aren't happy are they? Hahaha.

Racism? Perhaps but probably not that.

Are they Tories? I think so. The hatred of that young lad for doing something so wonderful off the pitch is quite honestly staggering. If you knock that lad for what he's done you're honestly a terrible terrible person.

Hope he shuts you all up and makes you utterly miserable this season now.

Rashford is a red.

It’s not just the fans TBF. Look at Lingard, Pogba, Phil Jones etc. we’ve lost the elite mentality from top to bottom.
2 players who’ve left & 1 who’s often injured. . .

Biggest criminals were rightly sat on the bench, Shaw & Maguire. They epitomise how far we’ve fallen.

Madness isn’t it? I’m pretty sure Rashford will come good, and if he doesn’t he can always go in the summer. People acting like we need to sell him yesterday should check their agenda.

The main point is that we didn’t cash in on them, offered stupid contracts, and also that the fans were so soft towards them. EtH is clearly trying to rebuild that elite mentality, that much is clear.

Don’t always agree with you but last sentence sums it up perfectly, people moaning when he doesn’t play well & when he does still having a go.

He’s more than earns a season under EtH, the level of disdain goes beyond his on pitch performances.

Again summing it up perfectly.

If as a United fan you can not be happy for an academy product having a good game against one of Europes better sides then I don’t know what will appease you.

Rashford has always been a player that needs space to run into which is why he has a good record against the big clubs, they don’t park the bus or sit deep.

Using Rashford up top as well as Martial could see a far more fluid and interchangeable forward line if we manage to add Antony to those two as well as Sancho, Elanga and Fernandes. On paper it doesn’t have a 25-30 goal a season striker but as a team unit we could see 15-20 from a few and 10+ from the others.

To answer your last question, yes it’s almost fashionable to be reactionary in these parts. Rashford isn't going to be consistent as what most people on here are hoping. I like him and he needs a clean slate…..at a new club
Agreed.

McTominay et al put in one good performance and it is incredibly reactionary. You just get folk crawling out of the woodwork over the pure basics.

I can't take this fanbase seriously considering how cultish it became around Ole.
He clearly wasn't or the goal wouldn't have stood, stop spouting bullshit.
He clearly was offside - - however, a tolerance level has been put in place for offside calls this season.

Like I said, reactionary children.

Yep.

We need to be ruthless, he's quite clearly not good enough for us. PSG are interested so he needs to go in January.

Ten Hag clearly doesn't rate him that highly either otherwise we wouldn't be after Antony AND Gapko.

I am with ten Hag. If he thinks he can get something out of Rashford, and last night was a great START, then I will trust in ten Hag

Based on that performance I don't want him to go but we should see how much PSG are willing to pay

The tolerance level means it was onside though. Hence it being given.

Correct. The tolerance level is set up to consider benefit of the doubt to the attacker, as should be the way. Also, because still frames aren't good enough to know everything. There are 'gaps' between each frame where the player may have appeared onside even by last year's standards. This is yet another reason that tolerance levels exist.

He'll have to battle to maintain his spot when Antony arrives, but that's a good thing for united and ETH, no one can put in half arse performance and get game time.
Yesterday Maguire, Ronaldo and Shaw got to sit it out, now they'll have to earn their spot.

Are they? They're going to spend, what, 60m for a player that will sit on the bench? Because he's not playing ahead of Mbappe, Neymar, or Messi. I get there's a lot of reports out there, but when they make no sense, you have to ask yourself is this true, and if it isn't, who benefits from that rumor?

That was his most enthusiastic performance in a long time. I didn't believe he could offer that spark at United anymore.

Not saying he played perfect but he did at least the good things we know he can do, closing space and timing aggressive runs to attack the defence. The goal was classic Rashford and could have scored a beauty after leaving three players on the floor.

Obviously he needs to show this energy on a regular basis before we start talking about commiting for the long term, but if he wants to redeem himself after his poor showings this was for sure a decent start. We'll see what happens in the next games.

Have you got a crush on him or something?

All of PSG's highly reliable journalists said they were in for him and £60m was their valuation.
And we get linked with 500 players every summer.

Stop believing everything you read.

If PSG are still offering £60m we’d be stupid not to take it. Let him go, get in Antony and Gakpo.

Dig up stupid!
Keano was spot on after the match, Marcus just needs to simplify his game. Play on the shoulder, make lots of runs in behind. Go direct and teams can't live with him.

If he wants to drop in and take people on he can do it at 2 or 3 goals up but when the games in the balance he needs to focus on being that penetrative, direct force we know he can be because its devastating. There's a reason he has goals against City and Liverpool who like to play high, you can't catch him

Fecking hell never promote @DutchCruijff he's having an absolute mare in this thread
Why are you crying?

I don't get these low IQ takes. "Oh no, someone says something I don't like so don't promote him!".

His first goal as a starter in 460+ days. 460+ days. Drill that into your skull. We've sunk to our lowest in decades and he's been a regular.

So called "fans" like you lower the standard of the club. Support a different club, genuinely.

One performance. Just one mediocre performance is enough to get the reactionary children to jump up and down and sink us into mediocrity.

He is not good enough. Sell. Sell. Sell.

PSG were never offering 60m though, this isn't even a real story, is it? Has anyone truly reputable backed it up? Especially that figure?
He'll be looking a new contract inside the next year, drumming up some "interest" would be a good agent move, could be that?

I feel like we've been hoping for this since he scored those two goals against them in 2018!

it would be stupid to let him go now though. As you say give him a season under Ten Hag and reassess the situation in the summer.

Well yeah, we need to try and limit the amount of shit posts
Start with curbing yours, in that case.
I agree with him. It's inane and puerile to throw a tantrum because you don't like someone's posts. If you disagree with anything in it, you can easily address it without resorting to the silly "never promote this (insert newbie username)"

PSG are reported to have said they were interested in Marcus a couple of seasons ago and that he remains on their list of interest.
We don’t know how true any of that is though and just what does that mean?
If true, it will almost certainly go no further than Rashford being among a list of dozens of other players across Europe, they’ll be keeping an eye on as potentials to fill various positions in the squad.

As others have pointed out, the tolerance level has allowed him to be onside and the goal stands. So why are you complaining? Even though many want him to be gone including me, i rather see if he is able to get back to his original game. Sometimes, a goal is all it takes. We have a new manager with a new style of play. He synched up with Martial well and that bodes well for the future if he keeps his brooding in check.

McTominay is a different case, he hasn't shown his game to be of top quality. Rashford has.

Shows a tweet with the still used by VAR to prove Rashford was onside.
Tweet even explains why he was onside.
Goal was given.

Still insist you're right and he was offside.

Aren't we after those players because Ronaldo wanted to leave and we need some more options for the attack. One of them would probably play on the right for Elanga but hey keep pushing your agenda without any evidence.
