Yeah you can't argue with someone who thinks like that.
Sort your country out, please. :)
Case in point, I sent this to some fellow teachers yesterday when they started touting the current unemployment rate in the US...
"The U.S. is entering a new era of economic growth and prosperity, already 8-9 years long … which started under Obama and we inherited and then expanded. But it will end prob in 1 – 2 years. So I’d not get into this"

-White House Council of Economic Advisors to President Trump when asked about touting job numbers in political advertising-
https://foreignpolicy.com/2018/08/0...on-state-department-misled-public-on-poverty/
I was told it was “a single quote taken out of context”.

They are. Deliberate disrespect of black people as a network policy.

Saw a clip on YouTube with some guy named Tucker from FOX debating with a guest about socialism. Tucker claiming that it has never worked ever in history, in any country.

Norway and Denmark says hello, Tucker.

No, that is not the one.

I find it strange that the socialism advocates in the US don't compare the numbers on our 36-40% tax rate with free premium hospitals, unlimited schooling and a welfare state that goes above and beyond expectations with what one actually pay in the US with both government and federal tax, a few kids in college, health insurance etc.

Its because they aren't organized and can't seem to decide how much socialism they want. You have some who want to tax the upper 1 percent 80% or more and you have other who advocate a more progressive tax scheme (like Sanders for instance).

Just continuing the clusterfeck of a "report" by Trish something where she also harped on about socialism in Denmark and claimed that Danes don't finish education and noone wants to work. Despite the fact that Denmark has a lower unemployment rate than the US and a better educated population as well.

Yeah, the social reform debate in the US is poisoned by the tools that want unrealistic tax levels and straight up confiscating entrepeneurs wealth and redistribute it. That is the thing with the US, it always tenders towards the extreme in either direction.

Oh and they don't have a viable political party either. Their only shot is integrating with the Dems to push their agenda to the left, but that would of course mean they would need to moderate their views in order to gain broader acceptance within the party. Proposals like tax 100% of anyone how makes more than x amount will be immediately laughed off and anyone who proposes such a thing will never be taken seriously again. On the other hand, going with the Sanders plan would be far more feasible since he pays for his programs with things like taxing offshore income, wall street speculation tax, closing the carried interest loophole, closing estate tax loophole, ending subsidies for fossil fuel companies etc

Which would be true. Socialism is a vile and inhumane concept that has never worked anywhere and will never work. Just like any other form of collectivism.

Norway and Denmark are capitalist countries which is why they are rich and prosperous.

I think you are confusing the term "rich" with "capitalist" here.

Our biggest gas company got the state as a majority owner, our biggest oil company, our biggest energy company. Outside of this you've got numerous other companies in resource based business like salmon farming, timber and mining.

In short, if your value chain is based on Norway's natural resources the country is having a hefty slice of it, since it belongs to the people and not some faceless prick in Blackrock.

Yeah, it is sort of the legit version of China, with stuff like human rights and free speech. Capitalist indeed, but with a strong state presence.
He says 60% of the economy is in some way state run, which of course means its still fairly balanced between capitalism and some form of socialism. The number in the US must be tiny.

Yeah I find it strange how it is structured in the US. Sure if you invent something like Windows or create something like Apple it is all yours, and the state got feck all to do with it. But if your business is value creation from the actual natural resources of the country it is strange to me how full private and even foreign control of it can be allowed.

Not if the government has anything to say about it. We've been privatizing for years, and some only want to take it further. The problem with privatization is that it's nearly impossible to reverse. So when one government let's the cat out of the bag, the next one can't very well just stuff it back in there.

We should just be grateful that FrP didn't get their wish of selling off the entirety of the rights to the oil and gas fields some years ago. That was before the Oil Fund, even, so we'd be left with feck all.

Statoil (Equinor) and Hydro before they merged into Equinor had to reduce some of their state ownership, control still remains with the state though. Also our most important industry which is the oil and gas will always remain under stringent control by the state due to the taxation scheme which is unique. Likewise we have the worlds second largest fund taking ownership in other important companies such as Kongsberg Gruppen, DNB, Yara etc.

Wrong, just plain wrong.

I do have to ask though, why is it vile? And what have you got against universal healthcare too?
