Sorry for you guys. Sure they’re okay coaches but there’s got to be better than Phelan, Carrick and McKenna as a set, with Ole leading them. There was no need at all to extend Ole. Spend the summer budget and make him perform in his last year, or at the most give him a one year rolling extension.
I think looking for “long term” managers is a bit daft at the biggest clubs. A properly run United would always be in a stronger position when looking for a coach and wouldn’t really lose out with shorter contracts. There’s exceptions like Nagelsmann who’s worth 5 years anywhere but how Ole is, I don’t know. When you’re forced into sacking him he’s going to get paid out very nicely. He must have been getting close to f’all at Molde as well.
