Must have received them through his family on social media. My joke aside from the other thread, while I do not in any way condone the death threats, I also can’t completely dispel the idea that Dean is using this to turn the narrative away from an absolutely horrendous few weeks of refereeing. The guy is an absolute noshbag who loves the limelight and clearly thinks far too highly of himself. Is he even on social media? How exactly has he received these “online death threats”?
I think he’s been let down a bit by the appeals board, if that’s how he saw it and wanted to give a red then they should have stuck by him instead of throwing him under the bus. I know he’s a bit of a dick and arrogant with it but not sticking by him makes it a lot worse.Without VAR the ref could make a mistake and would be given shit but decision can be excepted as a mistake.
with VAR and the ref watching a replay and still getting it wrong and then the decision being overturned after the match because it was wrong, then that ref is going to get a lot more shit.
obviously not condoning death threats
Some people have nothing going on in their lifes.Imagine threatening to kill someone over a football game
Imagine, people have been killed over a football game.Imagine threatening to kill someone over a football game
Well that has already happened in a strange strange circumstances.Imagine, people have been killed over a football game.
Disagree completely. Death threats aside, what you have just described is exactly the sort of gentleman’s society it’s been for decades and the standard has suffered massively for it. These refs need to own their decisions.I think he’s been let down a bit by the appeals board, if that’s how he saw it and wanted to give a red then they should have stuck by him instead of throwing him under the bus. Didn't some ref get stabbed or murdered over a decision? Some people take their football too seriously I guess.Imagine, people have been killed over a football game.
But then that’s just refs sticking together and thick as thieves again, they have to make the right decision regardless of the error or to avoid backlash, probably would have made even more mockery of the FA if it wasn’t overturned.I think he’s been let down a bit by the appeals board, if that’s how he saw it and wanted to give a red then they should have stuck by him instead of throwing him under the bus. If I recall correctly, he wasn’t shot because of that but it’s become the narrativeWell that has already happened in a strange strange circumstances.
It was VAR that referred him to the video camera so they must have thought something was in it too. I personally don’t think it was a red and common sense should have prevailed but if a ref has to go by the law and see’s it as an elbow being raised to a players face then he’s in a tough position not to send him off going by the book professionally.Disagree completely. There was a ref murdered by youth team players after a game in The Netherlands a few years back.Didn't some ref get stabbed or murders over a decision? Some people take their football too seriously I guess.

But going by the book what’s the right decision you can’t raise an arm to a players face in an aggressive manner, he was in a tight spot. But then that’s just refs sticking together and thick as thieves again, they have to make the right decision regardless of the error or to avoid backlash, probably would have made even more mockery of the FA if it wasn’t overturned.
Ehm, no.But going by the book what’s the right decision you can’t raise an arm to a players face in an aggressive manner, he was in a tight spot.
yeah I agree and seen your previous post and agreed with that too. Football is a subjective sport that’s trying to be made black and white, there’ll be plenty more of these instances and cretins with nothing better to doBut going by the book what’s the right decision you can’t raise an arm to a players face in an aggressive manner, he was in a tight spot.
Why?Ehm, no.
Why?
Looking at it purely from a professional point of view with all his colleagues looking at him does he not have to go by the rule book, the pressure was on him.
Because Mitrovic was all over him he raised his arm into his face and Mitrovic goes down like he’s been shot, the play acting fooled him into thinking it was worse than it was.VIOLENT CONDUCT
Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.
In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.
It's fairly fecking obvious that it's up to Mike Dean to assess the situation to decide if it's violent conduct or not, and there's nothing whatsoever in the rules that forces the fecker to conclude in either direction. For some unknown reason, Mike Dean decides that it looks like Soucek has done it on purpose.
His family got them as well as him.My joke aside from the other thread, while I do not in any way condone the death threats, I also can’t completely dispel the idea that Dean is using this to turn the narrative away from an absolutely horrendous few weeks of refereeing. He's got replays of the entire fecking situation.Because Mitrovic was all over him he raised his arm into his face and Mitrovic goes down like he’s been shot, the play acting fooled him into thinking it was worse than it was.
No need for all the swearing, I don’t think it was a red when I seen it first off. He's got replays of the entire fecking situation.
Mike Dean made a shit decision, and for the second time in under a week the shit decision is overturned...If you think they actually want to overturn decisions where VAR has intervened....
He's not forced into a tough spot. He didnt' see the situation, VAR reckons he should take a look, Mike Dean can easily make a sound decision and say he sees no intent and that it looks completely accidental, which it clearly does.No need for all the swearing, I don’t think it was a red when I seen it first off.
It’s because VAR intervened that he was forced into a tough spot, does he just go against VAR and whoever was in the room. He maybe should have been strong enough to do that but I still understand why he gave it, elbow to the face, man goes down. I can see why.
Well it’s not the decision he came to he thought there was some intent there, we all know if a hand goes to a face nowadays it’s an automatic red. He's not forced into a tough spot. He didnt' see the situation, VAR reckons he should take a look, Mike Dean can easily make a sound decision and say he sees no intent and that it looks completely accidental, which it clearly does.
