Mourinho's post match comments

I think he is getting to that point where it could all implode, danger is he could be given a fortune to spend (probably on short term quick fixes) and then be gone before end of next season.

Hope I am wrong and he can turn it round but I don’t see new signings solving all his problems, a lot of the issues are due to his tactics and negativity.

A new attacking coach? Do you have an "attacking coach" now? Does any top level club in Europe have an attacking coach?

Good question.

I think I would just like a more inspiring coach to be part of the team, we have Rui Faria who came from a fitness background, Carlos Lalin who specialises in fitness, Silvino Louro and Emilio Alvarez who work with the goalkeepers. Not a single coach including our manager with outfield experience.

Compare it to City who have Arteta, Pep, Domenec Torren who all played the game at a high level.

I know people will think this is a stupid post and will probably point out our backroom staff in 08/09 etc but I am just looking for solutions and how we can improve as the game is moving on and I sometimes question if Jose is being left behind.

Since Fergie, Moyes tried the job and lost. LVG with his great resume , tried to bring success and lost. Mourinho, having managed some of the biggest clubs in the world is trying and its not clicking. If these many managers couldn't do it, what is the guarantee the next one would? At what point do we start looking past the managers into the players? There's something fundamentally wrong with our club.
Yes and it’s with the owners.

Stop milking millions out of our club and start backing the coach

There are players who aren’t performing but as with LVG and Moyes the management isn’t good enough.

You are completely right. You have players that don't perform for 4 years but well, management fault. clap clap clap.

You are defending players that on paper are great, but on paper. Martial most of the time is missing. Could he be one of the greatest players. He could, does he want it to? don't know?

Shaw the same. I know, he broke hes leg and it's hard to recover. Should he stay because of that?

Lingards inconsistency is well known, for example.

And he is right, players are hiding. Players cant make easy passes because most of the player movement without the ball isn't happening. United can't be an attacking phenomenon if it's impossible to do 10 passes in a row. On tv and here they talked alot about that mata/martial short passes connection that happened like it was something so great and it was simply utter shit. Bad passes over and over, that ball was mistreated there but everyone was really happy with that play.

That's a really dangerous game he is playing, one hell of a risk.
It either actually inspires the team and the players with a good finish to the season, or it completely collapses like it did at Madrid and Chelsea.
Do we look inspired? He is turning Chelsea v2.0 all to quickly .. New contract extension , bad results and attacking the players.. How long will Utd give him? Even after winning the CL the year before Russian Abe didn't hesitate.. Let him finish, try to win the FA Cup and get someone who could entertain us in the summer .. This is getting ridiculous I just dont see him win the fans or the players back..

Get into a public PR war with players has always worked for Mourinho... There is probably 10 players on the phone with reporters at this moment. Prepare for the leaks.

Never heard of Torren and to my mind Arteta played decently for Everton but never high class

It's not just today, they've been hiding since December when we went through that poor patch.

Took Jose a while but finally he comes out and says it like it is. I back him on this one, about time the players deserved it for the shit they have served up in 2018.

Lukaku and matic are the only ones off of the top of my head who have considerably improved in desire since then.

Do we lack a leader?

I like how he openly talked about working on a faster build up, he’s going all out now no fecks given mode. Let’s see if the players can take it because if they can’t theyll be spending time on the bench.

There have been issues with complacency, and technical ability, for years. Now we have an issue with players sulking if they aren't selected yet underwhelming when they are chosen.

He is at least as much to blame as the players. His tactics are negative, there is a willingness to let opposition have the ball without any pressure and lack of creativity and movement going forward.

oh shut up. this is the easiest criticism. put a little thought into it, would ya?

This. It’s a bit of a gamble, but I actually think this is a battle he can win. Look at Lukaku’s comments about incoming players in the summer.

@Roboc7
Jose doesn't have his centrebacks play out but I see the criticism as not even trying to implement the tactics Jose set out.
Jose has often praised the side if they were trying and failing so he can't even be seen as being inconsistent here.
Lukaku stands out like a sore thumb for a reason and its not down to playing like Messi.

But someone has to and he didn’t pick anyone to do it so he can’t really complain. No point asking people to do things that can’t do, he needs to recognise strengths and weaknesses of players and find way to get best out of them. He isn’t doing that and is then pointing finger at everyone else, the players aren’t blameless, far from it, but he needs to look at himself as much as anything else.

Was also playing for Arsenal when they were semi decent
A long way from high class. Hey I’m not getting into a battle of semantics here.

City is a happy place. No doubt Arsenal was when Arteta played and they still had Steve Bould as coach.
Bould is still there BTW;)

That's were you want to have someone that tells them:" The manager will be out and you will be just behind."

I cannot believe people are buying this obvious charade

He's once again done what he's really good at which is deflect any criticism or blame away from him and throw everyone else under the bus.

What a load of nonsense. He had these players with such a restrictive and negative style for a long time, ask them to be more offensive after the while world been on his back due to his lackluster display in the CL. Naturally players fail to execute that due to obviously not being coached in much in attacking plays and then want to throw all the blame at them.

He's also started his small wars with his own players. Ripping into some publicly while backing other which will only obviously create fractions.

He basically want to pretend that this luckluster performance and lack of any cohesive attacking plays is the players fault and not him just because he worked with the on some fast plays for 2 days. And some people are actually buying that drivel.

Make no mistake, we're luckluster, negative and cowardly in our play due to Mourinho. He's had these players play this way for most of his time with us that asking them to suddenly turn into this scentillating attacking force after a 2 days training on quick interplays is a joke.

Is he trying to get sack after he attacked the club, fans and whole team(not Matic) in one week?

The manager has to coach that movement. It is his fecking job.

The manager can coach whatever he wants, and he said he did the players simply didn't want to move. If that is on their personality there's nothing you can do to rescue them. Easy has that. Just let them drown

Still not planning on signing any forwards in the summer Jose?

To be fair I quite like this post match interview, far more than the Sevilla one at any rate.

All of what he said was spot on. I don't want to see cowards on the pitch wearing United shirts, so if there are players who can't deal with this kind of critique they can feck off.

It needed to be said. He has protected the players quite a bit and took all the flack from Tuesday’s game.

The reality is they were all shocking on Tuesday even if the team was not set up properly.

He wanted a reaction and the players didn’t provide it. I’m fed up with the letheragic pace that some players run at. It needs sorting.

He'll need a reaction from some of them. He can't replace all of those he is aiming fire at.

Think we can all expect to see a new a centre half, a full back (maybe two) and a midfielder coming in this summer.

Bailly is safe I think, but we're facing a new look defence come August. And a switch in midfield. Oh and maybe attack.

Basically, we're going to try again.

What exactly do you think a manager's job is.

Funny, he changes the team, they still pass like shit. He tells Shaw to attack and he sits back. That’s on the players

His job isn't to change the team, you and I can do that. His job, his value as a football manager is in his ability to teach and mobilize players.

Mourinho's main job is to prepare the players if they are not prepared that is on him.

I don't think Mourinho is blameless at all but you do realize that what you're saying means players are always gonna escape blame ?

Don't play well, it's on the manager, not showing good mentality, the manager didn't prepare them well, player playing bad, because manager played him out of position.

I'm just curious, at which part can we blame the players for ? Because you can direct everything for the manager and job done!

Again I'm not saying Mourinho is blameless but players aren't free of the blame as well.

Speaking like a guy who doesn't care who he pisses off because he's gone at the end of the season.

Put yourself in his shoes. His job is to get results for the club. He won't get that if players don't follow his instruction or don't put in the effort. His two choices are to do nothing and fail with a whimper, or to give the players an ultimatum and force the board to pick a side. He's choosing not to go down without a fight.

Honestly, I think that he has made mistakes and he is flirting with disaster in terms of man management; but on the flip side of the coin, the players haven't really helped him either and at some point he has the right to keep them accountable.

Mourinho is known bullshitter. We never had good movement from our players for almost majority of the time under Mourinho, why is he suddenly harping about that? Almost all criticisms of us under Mourinho has been about the lack of movement.

The manager has to coach that movement. It is his fecking job.
Really? Do you think our players are so stupid that they can't move to get open for a pass? That someone has to explain it to them? Remember, these are players that are starting for Man Utd in the PL and presumably played somewhere for someone before.
