Would still like another CB who always plays as a CB type. Smalling isn't tough enough for me and Jones is an athlete, when fit, but doesn't have a brain to go with it.Im going to say an Atletico player, a Monaco player and 1 Benfica player. And one random one.
Can't see us signing anyone from Madrid for ages so no Kroos or James.
Mourinho has already said they will not chase impossible targets so no Ronaldo/Bale/Neymar/Sanchez etc. Cant see Weigl leaving Dortmund this summer.

Godin is the only one on my list who may not happen. The question asked for four so I thought of those 4. I do think Jose will be looking for a world class level defender in the Godin, Bonucci calibre. Not sure who will be available .
I think Gimenez may be more likely than Godin, though he has been playing more regularly in the last few months. The thread of course asks for only 4 players, but I reckon we'll need a few more to beef the squad up, after selling a few dead weights. I'd argue that we need pacy RW that can take on a defender with ease just as much as we need a clinical goalscorer in Griezmann.
So, I want us to sign: Griezmann, Lucas Moura, Weigl and Laporte.
I reckon we will sign: Griezmann, Fabinho/Bakayoko, Semedo and I'm taking a risk and saying Jose Gimenez.

Realistically, it all depends on if we get CL football. If we do we can expect Griezmann or a player of that quality, a CDM, a CB and maybe another striker. If not then it's so much harder to get the quality of player who will improve the side.

You like Blind as a first choice left back but not Valencia as a first choice right back?
I don't know why I don't see many people looking at Belotti as an option - from what I have seen, he is the atypical "Jose striker", whether in a 433 or 4231. He is strong, pacy, defends from the front, great in the air and most importantly, scores goals - all sorts of goals, if we go by the season he is having so far in Torino. I think he is perfect for the style of football that we are playing now - where we need someone ruthless to finish off chances. I think Jose is here for the long haul, and he won't be relying too much on a 36 year old to be first choice striker next season, especially if he is planning ahead for the future. Hence, if we sign a top striker like Belotti, Kane or Lukaku, I think Ibra will leave for MLS, especially if we win the Europa Cup and manage to get into the UCL places. His legacy will then be getting us somewhere where we used to belong, and building the launchpad for our next few seasons of success.
Hence, if you ask me about 4 signings they will be:
1. Belotti (Kane or Lukaku are options too)
2. A DM/DLP to replace Carrick - Strootman is my pick
3. A RB as Valencia is no spring chicken - Semedo for his attacking instincts as our right winger will most probably tuck in most of the time
4. A CB to partner Bailly - I don't have much of an idea as good CBs are a rarity, but I won't be surprised if we went for experience and tempt someone like Godin.
