I may be the devil, but i'm not a monster
He's got more assists than any other player in our team this season.
And most of them are by short passes and quality through balls. His crosses and corners have been relatively shit and probably on par with Valencia's. But that's not to say its a bad thing as both his corners and crossing has never been anything to brag about.

Ben Hibbs says 'Nani was fit last week before the City game got called off, and went to Qatar so I imagine he's OK. He's slipped down the pecking order tho'. Hope he gets a chance this weekend as our left side has offered nothing lately.

Ok, I'm doing this one more time. Nani is very important to our title hopes. So much so, that i believe Nani should be in the team everytime a certain Ryan Giggs isn't occupying the left wing.

Why?

1. Frustrating he may be, but we can't have cake and eat it too. Park is an asset when we play the really big teams. His off the ball runs make life easier for Rooney and co. But this quality doesn't quite help against the lower ranked team. Plus Its generally agreed, park is never going to be starting eleven material. Obertan isn't ready yet. Anyone who says he is should be smacked on his butt by his grandmother. He generally makes the same mistakes as Nani and yet people don't seem to look at that.

2. Even though he frustrates the hell out of the common fan and shades a few more hairs on fergie's head grey. Its still a fact that he provides atleast 2 or 3 quality balls and often dribbles past his opponent. His final ball may be lacking, but its still better quality than all of our wingers not named Giggs and capable of playing down the left.

Nani should and will play an important role in the title run in. Don't understand the reason why most of you don't see that.

*sigh*

Tell me, how many players (other than our back four/keeper) in our squad have started 6-7 games in a row over the last few seasons?

Once you've come up with that (very short) list, take a moment to think about WHY they have and why Nani hasn't.
For the same reason as Berbatov me thinks...
Will I ever see the Pogue saying anything positiv about Nani? :)

I'm positive about him when he puts in a good performance. Which is probably why it only happens very rarely.

Not in the squad, eh? Anyone else think SAF has been warned not to trigger an appearance clause in his transfer fee if he's not keeping him in the long-term?

I'd be surprised if he isn't in the squad tomorrow. In the press conference about the only thing one might be able to guess is possibility of VDS involvement but, there were no other indications of what the squad make up would be for tomorrow.

Not in the squad tomorrow.
Not according to the MEN

Like RonaldoVII said, sometimes they are guesses. But I wouldnt expect him to start against Burnley after his injury absence.

Dont forget our next game is the midweek Carling Cup semi final 1st leg against Man City. He should definitely start that because we need a threat from the wings against what is sure to be a strong side.

He should have an opportunity coming up to get himself back into the starting lineup. Apart from Valencia the other wingers have hardly covered themselves in glory over the past few weeks. Nani's attributes are well known and if he can harness them to our advantage we should regain some of our cutting edge. Hope he makes the most of it.

Burnley game is the perfect one for him to come back in - it will be no where as difficult as the City game and Giggs can come and take over if things don't go well.

I expect Park to start in the City game on the left with perhaps Obertan getting another shake on the right.

MEN very often get the squads wrong, as some poster said I think most of the prematch squads given by BBC and MEN are often guess work. Personally he should be starting this match. He is very much a confidence player and Burnley aren't the greatest of sides. If he gives a good performance than who knows it might kick-start his season and in the process will also solve one of our problem in the current squad. Obertan isn't ready to start the games while Park despite being a good squad player shouldn't start against those teams who are gonna park a bus in front of goal

I hope he starts against Burnley and hope he gets rewarded with a start against City if he plays well. These confidence boosts are HUGE.

Take yourself to that football ground
I hope he starts against Burnley as they play that aging Alexander at RB.
He's still a good defender, regardless of age, and he's quite a tidy player; so I could see Nani struggling to outwit him on the wing even if he could outrun him.

He does need a run of games though, to see if he can regain some form and confidence, though it's quite likely that he's gone too long without a good run for us to ever fully regain the form of that great first season he had with us.

He is:

a) Our best dead-ball specialist (corners and free-kicks)

b) Our best long-range shot specialist.

c) Our most tricky winger.

All the above attributes help teams to win tight games. Hopefully he apologises to SAF, buries the hatchet with SAF and gets a run of a few games. We will all be suprised how well he can do.

Come on Nani.

never in a month of sundays

He takes the worst corner ive ever seen!

You must not have seen anyone else take them then.
in fairness to Nani he is not on his own in the Crap Corner Takers Club.

A few giggs has hit this year have been desperate. Its an area that needs improving no doubt about it.

I think there's only Gibson who has taken a decent corner in recent months, but corners and shots from 40 yards isn't enough to start him.

gibo needs an experienced man beside him at the moment, i am still on the fence as to if he will make it at United

SAF surely has noticed how bad our set plays are this year! i think we only scored from one corner all season!

terrible stat

There haven't been many.

If you think about our severe lack of set piece quality and nobody apart from Giggs laying claim to the left wing spot, it makes you wonder why Tosic has never even had a chance off the bench. He is an attacking, left footed winger who is a set piece specialist. He can't be worse than what we've had. Complete madness.

Yeeeees...and if he took better set pieces he would've gotten more assists. He just needs to get the ball over the first defender.
Not saying his stats are bad, just saying that good could be better. He's got a lot of chances to get more.
