Just hoping it's something that will heal with just rest.

I'm glad they're playing the Hawks though cause if it was the Bucks or the Nets and Embiid is not 100% I think its game over. This next series (if they can come through it) at least gives him time to recover before they have to face the real tests.
They are saying day to day but need a 100% Embiid in the Finals to have any chance at all. Need to make it past Trae and the Hawks before that though

Really good coaching adjustments by both sides, but Mavs starting Boban and going zone quite a few times to make the Clippers a perimeter team is different, but fun to see.

Mavs defense is shutting down Clips at the end of the game, plus the lack of a true guard ball handler continues to hurt the Clippers.

Back to back clutch 3s by the supporting cast pushes the Mavs lead.

Where's Rondo?

Away team wins again!

KL panicked on that final possession with an ill-advised shot, but good inbounds defense by Dallas to force a player into a bad shot.

Too many turnovers and bad choices down the stretch for Clippers without a true guard on the court...while Dallas under Luka was able to put the ball in his teammates hands to give them a chance and they were rewarded.

Sat on the bench next to Beverley. Mann was on the court, had good effort, but he's not the solution. Rondo was in during the inbounds play, but nowhere to be seen in crunch time.

And wtf would you pass the ball to Mann when you're only down 1 with under 17 seconds? Again, dumb choice by Clippers and George.

No I know that. Why isn't he playing? They made such a huge deal about Playoff Rondo and he's supposed to be the guy in these moments, making sure it isn't passed to Mann, even though it was a good look, in those tight situations.

Totally agree with you, not sure why he was sat. Only thing I saw is that Mann was better defensively when Clippers go small. He was very active in the high screen and roll, but yeah...the Rondo and Lou Williams trade was seen as a good get by the Clippers. Rondo has shown his nerve in countless playoff situations as the primary ball handler.

If you're worried about his defense, then double Luka and just get the ball out of his hands. But Mavs made more shots and took care of the ball.

To think they let Lou Williams go on the process who would've easily found them the buckets they needed today. However not having a legit plan vs Luka remains their biggest problem. They always play from behind because he's straight roasting them.

So, barring one game when he was injured, in this series Luka plays the clippers even pretty much by himself for 3 Qtrs, mavs just need the support cast to show up for 1 Qtr and they win

They should double Luka and make sure he can't get near the paint so he can't set up shop. Nobody is big or long enough to slow him down on a high screen and roll. Clippers have enough shooting to close the gap when they're behind, but in the clutch situations, like again last night, they have no clue to who does what, and who will be where. Have a true guard is essential in the playoffs. Just because you can ball handle doesn't mean you're the man to run the show in the half court.

Dallas has done a really good job of assembling a competitive and well coached team around Luka. And Rick Carlisle is a top coach.

Clippers should just hack-a-Luka, FT are his only weakness!

Disagree on dallas doing a good job assembling the team. Carlisle is a one of the best coaches in the league, but the team is really poor and poorly constructed, given how good Luka is they should be a contender right now. They have no great perimeter defenders or rim protection, and lack a genuine second star on offence. The latter two are down to Porzingis, sure, but it was their decision to trade for him and then give him the max...

Porzingis....is a lost cause, unless he gets back to his preinjury form. Took a look at their salary cap...he's a cap eater, but Mavs will have money to spend this off-season.

Considering where they were last few years and for whatever reason haven't spent too much, aside from KP and Hardaway Jr....think they will max out Doncic next year.

They aren't great as you said, but they are coached really well and have good defensive length, but not exactly shutdown players.

The rumour was that they were one of the teams keeping cap room for Giannis.

A lot of teams were! NYK included.

Giannis was the guy, followed by Kawhi (player option). Think John Collins is going to get paid handsomely now as he turned down a 4 year extension from Atlanta.

Atlanta can and will match any offer though after the season they’ve had, I presume.

I would think/hope so too. Also could depend on who their coach is, but think Nate will stick around. Something is developing with Atlanta, even if I think they can do away with Cam Reddish.

Why did they pursue that trade? Was it one of those "maybe he's still great" roll of the dice?

Man, when Jokic gets going he's nothing short of a load. Don't see Portland winning this especially with Rivers doing a good job on Dame.

Garbage stuff. We were cruising so comfortably deep into 3rd quarter to play like absolute garbage in the 4th. 28 fecking 14 in a crucial quarter in the playoffs, come on.

Another wasted season losing to a Denver team without Murray. Sucks.

Not surprising given you guys don't actually have an offensive system.
