If it’s remotely possible then we have to do everything to get it done now.

Having an extra 6 months of games to evaluate the squad and implement his philosophy will be huge. This cannot turn into a wasted season with yet another hard reset at the end of it.

I’d be split between Poch and Ten Hag but if it’s a choice between Poch now or Ten Hag in the summer it isn’t even close. Get Poch.

If the Poch rumours are true, he's clearly highly motivated to manage the club. If Ten Hag is equally interested he'd make it known to someone at the club that he's willing to join us now as well. Because if Poch is ready to come now, the only way Ten Hag has a chance at the job is if he too is willing to leave mid-season. If he doesn't then we know that Ten Hag isn't as interested as Pochettino.

Just £10M? What the hell are they waiting for. Just do it. Get him and his staff in before Young Boys and we might actually get through the Champions League group stage, at that point we've already made back the money we spent on him. (€2.7M for winning against Young Boys, and €9.5M for getting through to the round of 16). This is a no-brainer.

10m is like small change to the Glazers.

Come on, get this done.

Yeah I have to agree with you here. I’m uneasy about taking an interim manager. We need to get our target now and start to recover with the intention of pushing for a title challenge next year. If we don’t move now it could be the 23/24 season before were all going the same way of the permanent manager.

Looks like it’ll be Poch

Probably my (distant) second choice after Ten Hag, although I doubt the Board really know much about the latter so I assumed it wouldn’t be him

Think Hag will end up at City
Just don't think our club will agree to the sort of set up Ten Hag would prefer. He is used to Overmars finding hidden gems, their academy producing hidden gems. Players who play a certain way. City players would suit him and he knows the kids coming up would suit him. We sign the players who agents bang their drum the loudest. Yes City sign players but there is a method behind who they sign. They fit with how the manager wants to play. Our team would need another massive overhaul as not sure a lot of our players are willing to invest the energy needed to play how Ten Hag would want.

Most mental thing ever. How did they carry on with the contract extension given our form... Absolute fools.
Same way we fell into the trap of giving Ole a contract in the first. They would be easily fooled into giving his coaches anything Ole asked for.

Lets have him in place by Sunday, I'm confident this will happen quickly and he'll at least be in the stands v Chelsea.

Fair enough, like I said, I am not against him as a manager.

What I am is vary of how quickly / successfully he can implement his system at United and with this squad.

It took Pep one season to implement his system with a big budget, a team that won the league. Will the fans give him the time?

I think we have players that could work. If a swap for De Jong / Pogba could be done that would help as well. But yes it might take a season to get rolling. To be fair so did it for Klopp.

I wish we'd had something sorted during the international break. Dropping someone in away at Chelsea in our current state is a nightmare start.

The cost of the compensation is what you get for being so passive and lackadaisical about Ole. Pay up now and fix the mess you have made, money men.

There is still time to use this season for something and to persuade players to stay.

Exactly, so that is almost writing off this season and next. Ten Hag will not join until the summer. If we could get him now, implement his style ready for next season, I would be all up for it.

I have seen the way Ajax play, I do like his style in terms of moving the ball, one touch, creating triangles.

If it's a matter of money I think we will pay. I think any stall in the coming days is probably down to PSG needing a replacement lined up.

When have the clowns in our boardroom done anything quickly? They'll probably leave as long as possible hoping poch agitates for a way out and the compensation drops.

Never doubt the incompetence of Woodward et al.

If it is a choice between Poch now and ETH in the summer, we should go for Poch now and see how it works... There is still winter transfer window and Poch may actually put some pressure on the board to buy some capable central mid.

Wow could really be Poch. Was only a couple months ago people were delighted his being off the market meant Ole's job was safe for the foreseeable future. Turns out Ole couldn't even hang on to the job with zero competition. The football world goes full circle fast.

What if Zidane not ready? PSG surely will not Poch leaves.
I think if they know Zidane will come in due course, they'll do it. Because Poch will be as good as invisible after todays news it seems. City is their trickier fixture to navigate in the CL group and they are 11 points clear in the league.

Don't care who the manager is, as long as they play similar to that^^ That Donny goal against Watford highlights what we've been missing, a midfielder to break the line and get in the box to help the striker/pick up 2nd balls from the wingers shots.

I think Zidane will be ready for PSG, it makes sense. He can easily win the league and also fancy his chances of winning the CL, in terms of difficulty, the PSG job has to be one of the easiest among the top clubs. Plus, if Poch actually states he wants to leave PSG I don't think they'll stand in his way if United pay the compensation.

They've wanted him for a long time. There's an obvious deal to be done with Zidane to PSG too. I think it moves pretty quickly, the board will be aware of the pressure to get something in place fairly quickly.

Looking more and more likely it's going to be MoPo. And it's possibly even happening before the end of this season.

He'll get United competing all the way, but losing at the final hurdle. At least it'll be interesting.
Did you believe that Ole would get us relegated?

People seem to believe that history always repeats itself. All things considered I think Poch is the best option that we realistically have, and if the press are to be believed he really wants the job. Ergo - gotta be him.

Serves them right to have to pay up all of this for having offered Ole an undeserved new deal.

I do believe we would see clear signs of us playing better football and moving in the right direction quite quickly, even if trophies would take some time. But the former could buy him the time needed with the fans I think.

What has been a massive issue with our former managers after Ferguson, has been that we have not gotten the results AND the football has at times been downright ugly.

Agree with people saying of poch wants the job then he is the man. Amazing how short a time it took for people to forget what it was like having players and managers that didn't care about repping United but came for money.

Hypothetically, do we think for someone like Poch, with his experiences and overall decent resume under Levy, could be best suited for the club given how the Glazers run the club?

The are obvious differences, more pressure, bigger warchest, bigger personalities and higher expectations, but the more I think about how tightly Levy runs his ship and how Poch improved the team as a whole from when he took over, the more I come to think of his adaptability to run a well oiled team under certain conditions.

Having the experience of PSG can only be beneficial for his experience surely? For the record, I'm a huge admirer of ETH and think he would be worth the wait, but the more I think about other option only one is becoming more prevalent in my mind.
