Im sure the PSNI could have handled things a lot differently on the Lower Ormeau road today.

Especially since a few days ago a masked gang was rampant in east Belfast and they did precisely zero.
If it had been the other side running about with masks on making threats they’d have been lifted, police would have had the land rovers out and rightly so. Absolute scum of the highest order who will do the square root of feck all.

Haven’t actually seen what went on on Ormeau Ro today, just seen MON tweet so won’t comment.

A semi large gathering at a memorial of a uvf killing they were "heavy handed". I haven't seen any videos just the report.

My guess is after the 2 ira funerals,.the uvf one and then them parading around in balaclavas they have been told to clamp down.

Now they've clamped down they've been criticised for being over the top.

The police will never get it right in this country in the public or media's eyes.

To be fair they gave the thugs a police escort during their little walk and arrested a survivor of the shooting at a memorial service of a massacre that their predecessors, the RUC, have been accused of covering up and hiding evidence from.
In terms of getting it wrong thats as wrong as it gets

Just off the phone there, apparently it was a Sinn Fein lead memorial though and it was passed with the police and all above board. The people at it must have been quite elderly now considering Sean Graham’s was back in 92’, I can understand the anger from nationalists when the UVF marched to a food bank the other day to close it down and PSNI did nothing. It seems totally unfair on grieving pensioners laying reefs.

Christ I remember watching that funeral on the news and being stunned at what was happening. It's crazy to think that he can just walk around the streets now.
Plenty of people just as bad as him walking around freely in this country... Some even in positions of power.

Stormont meets up, takes scientific advice and announces a phased return for pupils.
5 days later, Boris announces all pupils return in England and Arlene runs out to the end of her driveway and says we must revisit what was agreed to 5 days ago because of what England are doing.
She doesn't do Unionists any favours thats for certain.

She’s an absolute cretin. She’s going a long way to bringing the DUP down.

DUP going against the scientific advice, haven’t we been down this road already.

Clearly the DUP were reluctant to agree to the phased reopening of schools but the medical advice made their preferred position of a full reopening untenable at the time. Yet they are such shameless opportunists that they are willing to piggy back off even their biggest backstabber Johnson to try to get their way. Absolute charlatans

It's actually incredibly sad seeing how much she wants the British State to give a feck about her and her tin pot party.

Today was the actually the first day since lockdown that I felt depressed walking down the street and seeing all the shutters down, people must be at the end of their tether now.

I don’t understand why they can’t give indicative dates based on what we need to achieve. I’m not really sure how this roadmap actually helps anyone.

It doesn't - whats depressing is that even this rubbish took them fecking ages to agree on because of their own bollocks.

Because England gave theirs and the Unionists want to tag in behind.
All that says to me is we will open when England opens but we cant say it

You are right of course. What is so frustrating is - firstly, this is a total waste of time because all we want is dates to plan our lives around and to give us all some hope - secondly, the vaccine roll-out in NI is actually going extremely well and is in advance of what's happening in England so if anything you might expect things to be relaxed here a bit quicker than England but nooooo we just sit and wait until Boris says something instead of acting in the best interests of the actual people they supposedly represent.

Doesn’t really say anything apart from households which am sure the majority of people are already breaking anyway.
