Good news for the fans.

From soccernet:

Manchester United have reiterated their stance that Ruud van Nistelrooy is not for sale.
Despite repeated denials from both the club and the player, there has been a fresh round of speculation today linking the 27-year-old striker with a move away from Old Trafford.

Amid rumours of a rows with Sir Alex Ferguson, Roy Keane and David Bellion, Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are both reported to have met Van Nistelrooy's agent Rodger Linse to discuss a possible summer transfer.

Yet twice within the last week, the Dutchman has stated he is going nowhere and United officials have been exasperated at the latest speculation, once again insisting the ?8.5million signing from PSV Eindhoven will not be moving on.

'Ruud is not for sale,' said a United spokesman.

'We have said this consistently, so I don't know what more we can do.

'He signed a new contract in January and has said himself over the last few days that he wants to stay with the club.'

In an interview with the official match programme ahead of Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, Van Nistelrooy rejected the transfer talk, insisting he was still happy at Old Trafford.

'What can I do,' he said.

'I signed a contract here showing that I don't want to leave but still people write stories.

'It doesn't matter what people say. I am staying here, I am not going anywhere and I'm optimistic about the future.'
