In what tier do you rank Ole?

Tier 1 = proven world class managers - Pep and Klopp (CL titles, League and Cup titles)
Tier 2 = proven CL class - Pochettino (CL final, CL group winners)
Tier 3 = proven PL top 6 class - Rodgers (Liverpool, Leicester?)
Tier 4 = established PL class - Hodgson (Fulham, Liverpool, Crystal Palace)
Tier 5 = PL class - Sean Dyche (Burnley)
Tier 6 = PL newbie - Graham Potter (B&H)
Tier 7 = Championship level manager - ?

In my opinion this season Ole is somewhere between Tier 5 and 6. Last season he probably was between Tier 4 and 5 if I include his caretaker stint. I think that’s fair.

What constitutes ‘being a twat’? Genuinely.

I’ve not seen people say anything other than he is just isn’t very good & then pointing to his record across his 2 premier league spells.

I see far more bile in certain players threads.

Said in a different thread mate. The guy has my admiration. I hate him. But I've gone beyond anger into bitter admiration because he is so fecking masterful at what he's done. Doing this to Everton fans would be admirable. Doing it to United fans is a level of spin and manipulation never seen before among sports fans.

It is an absolute masterclass and I have to have some kind of admiration for that.

Well done you absolute cnut. Well done.

This is just one of many.

Tier 8, I don’t think many Championship teams would be interested in him.

This is just one of many.

Probably should have quoted the “many” posts as pointing out one post doesn’t do your imaginary argument any favours. The overwhelming majority just think he’s a fecking terrible manager which he’s proven to be, in all honesty. Then you have some fannies getting overly emotional because he’s a club legend. Yup, he sure is, but if you can’t separate Ole the player and Ole the manager then you need to work on your emotional maturity.

I wish  but honestly, I just don’t think OgS has shown anything as a manager to mean he should be in the position.

He’s below par obviously at the moment but what makes me still have faith is every decision he’s making is for the benefit of Man Utd not himself unlike most managers who would in all probability be getting better results already but not caring so much for the club in the long run.

That deserves respect in my opinion.

Not really looking into how you structured this, and not necessarily sure of what stuff like “established PL class” means, but Ole’s extended record in the Prem is getting relegated with Cardiff and currently having Manchester United 2 points above relegation zone. Again, I don’t fully understand what “PL class” or “established PL class” means, I just know that ain’t got to be it.

This is where we differ.

He’s been rather self serving & traded of of the goodwill he has as a former player imo.

Since when did it become acceptable to call one of our legends a cnut?

Despite whether you believe Ole deserves more time or not, treating him with respect should be mandatory for any United supporter.

What imaginary argument are you referring too?

It’s one post. You’re making out like it’s rampant. No it’s a shit post by all accounts but it’s one post.

So much shit on here honestly. You can have doubts about someone's managerial ability without being a twat about it, believe it or not. Really hope he goes on to ram it down some people's throats.

PAUSE!!

and he won’t be proving no-one wrong. Absolutely no one.

The guy asked for an example so I gave him one.

I'm fairly certain there would be plenty more examples if I trolled back through the thread but I really can't be assed to do that.

Calm down, nothing should be ‘mandatory’.

OgS definitely deserves respect & cult status for his time with us as a player & the language was a tad bit strong but the fact is the star that shone so bright for him previously has diminished in the eyes of some fans.

It’s a game of opinions, let him have one.

He’s been rather self serving & traded of of the goodwill he has as a former player imo.

He’s made hard decisions, someone argued the other day that we would be better with Fellaini and Lukaku in the team and I agreed with them but with the caveat it wouldn’t be helpful long term.

Letting Lukaku and Sanchez go without getting a replacement summed up my thoughts on it, why would any rookie manager weaken his own chances of his only chance success at this level intentionally? Not just anyone but a former united striker that more than any striker on the planet in history saw what the benefits of having competition for places up front did?

As I said, it’s one post. I’ve literally not seen a single other post of anyone calling him a cnut which just seems bizarre. Calling him out for doing a terrible job is absolutely fair game. But calling him a cnut is just weird.

Last season and pre season some of us said Leicester might have have at least as good a first XI as us. Maybe we know what we're talking about. We get dismissed as talking nonsense when saying quality of player makes a difference though.

Could have just left it at that mate.

Absolutely.

God knows I've done exactly that in the LVG and Jose out threads.

Was going to post this earlier. People were literally crying when posters had the sheer audacity to suggest Leicester would finish ahead of us. Some need to stop living in the past and accept what we’ve become. We’re a fecking joke and our manager is nowhere near good enough to help get us back to where we belong.

I agree 100%.

Hopefully, for once, Ed will give the manager time to build his own team. It's obvious that the fans are unhappy with the results right now. But when it comes to export and import, Ole has done a fantastic job.

If you're expecting the team to fight for the top positions this year, you are delusional. There are so many players in this squad that should be no more than squad/reserve team players.

You can put makeup on a pig... But it's still a pig.

And you can praise a very underwhelming manager.... You get the drift

Ole is being shown up from every single angle. There are no excuses for where we are in the table, absolutely zero excuses. No excuses for our performances against vastly lower opposition, game raising against better opposition and still not winning.

Make it stop.

In all honesty if we signed him from Norwich he wouldn’t be playing like he does now. Simply as no one comes here and improves. That’s down the coaching. So Ole is a culprit of that.

Was you happy with Jose? Or LVG?

Yup, there’s no excuses, however people will continue to reel out ridiculous excuses, most of which are non-football related.

So if (if) we win the next 5 and were up the top what’s your issue then?

Ever thought the manager isn’t playing and is about 5% of what actually happens on a pitch if that?

What’s the point of hypothetical bollox? He’s commenting on the here and now and he’s spot on. Is this what the Ole fan boys have resorted to, hypothetical scenarios? Has anyone got literally any actual football reasons for keeping him? I mean there’s literally none but care to make some up to try validate your ‘argument’ somewhat.

He spent months during a torrid end to last season telling us he was using the time to asses the squad & he knew what we needed; he talked of signing a striker.

We inevitably sell Lakaku but sign no one; he starts the season saying he was happy with the squad but is now telling us the players he wanted weren’t available but we may sign players in January; though the ones we’re being linked to are cast offs we could have purchased in the summer but I honestly can’t discuss transfers as we don’t know what they do or how they do it.

What I will judge him on are team & player performances. The football we are playing is tumescent; week after week we see the same issues. Player performances, similar to the previous; I can’t think of a player he has improved.

He speaks to the hearts of our fans but his words to me sound cliched & ring empty.

My post had nothing to do with the manager just quality of players. I was saying similar about Leicester when we had Mourinho in charge.

We beat Leicester with a depleted side a few weeks ago.

Hassenhuttl was seen as the type of manager we should be looking at by many on here a few weeks ago.

Is every manager that doesn't beat Southampton 9-0 going to be subject to the same standards as being applied tonight?

Like when Moyes managed us and the hopefuls were saying the same thing while we rotted in mid table. “If” is a majestic word. There’s absolutely zero evidence that under Ole and his staff, we’re capable of scoring more than two goals, never mind go in a winning run.

Do you really think he didn’t want a goal Scorer?

There’s always an excuse and they will continue. We have to wait for Pogba to come back so he can have a fully fit squad. Then we have to wait for him not to deliver for people to say he’s a distruption in the dressing room and not allowing the squad to jell. Then we have the winter transfer window to look forward to where Ole can finally replace Lukaku. Then there’s the time to jell excuse for any new player coming in. Then there’s the he didn’t get all the players he wanted in January excuse and the best one. This squad was never good enough to sustain a premier league status once the season is over and we are 17th.
