It breaks my heart to say it, but it's time. He's done a good job in many ways but it's time to step aside and let someone else take us to the next level.
I fully expect we will win the fixtures against Atlanta, Liverpool and City with some individual brilliance. He will say we have turned a corner and we will falter in games we shouldn’t. In short, don’t see him gone anytime soon. We are stuck with him.

End of the season. It’s hard to see who the fourth team would be (beyond Liverpool, City and Chelsea) who would make it so that we’re out of the top 4 race before the end of the season. No one seems to be very consistent beyond the top 3.
I think we’ll be knocked out of the CL early, either in the group stage or in the last 16. I actually see us still finishing 4th but ultimately there will be a lot of negativity around the club and Ole, and probably leaks from the players, which will get Ole sacked.

Drop points v Atalanta and lose to Liverpool would leave us virtually out of the title race and our place in the CL on a knife edge. Any other top club would pull the trigger. We are looking like the Barca of the EPL.
They want to stick to the intangible "United Ethos" and want to give out that vibe of being different than others. That they're more aware and sensitive towards managers and the job that goes with it. That's what I meant and I thought it was pretty obvious. Valencia, Smalling, Jones and Young had all played together for what? 5-7 years at that point? Probably even more, and had been playing consistently under the greatest manager of all time. I agree it's probably time to look for another manager to take us forward, but I don't think "just anyone" would do better than Ole with this squad, barring the new manager bounce (that bounce that most likely is keeping Ole in the job currently)
We've chosen a great time to renew our coaching staff's contracts when it's pretty obvious they're a big part of the issue.

I'll always be grateful to him for Juanfield. Never, not even in SAF's days, have we ever gone to Anfield and completely dominate Liverpool like that. It was sublime.
We should have known that SAF was close to the end of his career and we should have worked on building the foundations for his replacement. That meant hiring a CEO who understands football, a DOF and all the necessary restructuring needed (youth level etc). That structure would have chosen who should succeed the old man. Instead we had SAF pretty much choosing his successor who then went on dismantling the little structure we had. If we take Phelan aside then you can summon our entire structure down to one single phrase ie they are specialized in failure.
After the Liverpool game surely, the Result of the Atlanta game won't help him, If we get beat by Liverpool at Home by a huge scoreline that would be it.

He'll be sacked when the board has secured a new manager to replace him. I imagine we start hearing rumours of meetings between people next week and a replacement lined up by Christmas. There were plenty of rumours of Ed meeting with Van Gaal, Mourinho and Pochettino (who asked for time and ended up losing out to the temporary caretaker) while their predecessors were 100% secure.
Zidane is the answer. I like Ole and credit to him for bringing in quality players, but he is limited and reached his limits already. It's time to say goodbye.

Not a chance in the world we get anything out of Liverpool game with the way they've been playing, we can't defend for our lives, we don't win midfield battle, we are weak at everything team work, we relie so so much on individuals wether it's at defending or Making a pass or scoring, this isn't a team it's a bunch of individuals who have been sent on the field to play as individuals.

Our basic weaknesses were easily exposed by Leicester and their manager.
Rogers knows exactly how to set up a team to beat United. And his playeres followed the script.
United were timid and clueless and allowed Leicester to boss the game.
So. The real question is - does Ole understand exactly what needs to be done.
And does he have the ability to implement the necessary changes.

Tactically, for the owners and the next manager, I think it will be after the city game, unless we get absolutely thumped by the scousers (which could well happen) then it will be after that.

I have no confidence in the board doing what is necessary, I've consigned myself to accepting this mediocrity and just supporting the team through this all. I have no choice, results don't even affect me like they used to, I've lost the passion a bit but will still support the boys. Ole needs to go but unfortunately those who write the cheques don't think so.
